when you fit the newer model brakes and carrier the honda banjo bolt will just sit/rub on the top of the swingarm. The yamaha banjo bolt has a smaller head maybe by a couple of millimetres, just enough to clear the top of swingarm.

Just an update on my build,.. looks like it's mostly delayed until next season as we're now getting around to riding season so I'm going to have to slap it back together so I can ride it Sad ..... I do have pretty much everything in hand now to complete it the way I want it (Plastic, graphics, seat cover,. updated forks/brakes...) ... but for this season it's back to the Hondasaki look .... :o

Does anyone know where I can buy a works style, raw steel exhaust pipe for a 1989 RM250 ? I can only find nickel plated FMF brand. I don't want a platinum or nickel plated pipe.

It won't fit, no. The pipe is the same from 92-94 and then 95-96. The silencer is the same from 92-96 though.

Also, is this Paul from 100%MX?

Unfortunatley getting PC to do a relatively small production run of old pipes isnt cheap but no-one ever complained about quality...
Hopefully soon your pipe wont be the last PC pipe for this bike, thanks to docwob.

Hey, it's cool that there will be another run of PC Works pipes... But I don't understand why it's vital? Unless I'm missing something, MC never ran a PC pipe on any of his '93-6 CR250s-- I thought the pipes were HRC? (And yes, I have a PC Works pipe on both my '93 and '95 replicas, so I'm a hypocrite for asking I guess.) Are these pipes going to be cone section?

HI.
The Pro Circuit pipes im having re-made are the regular pro Circuit part number,the same that was available off the shelf back when the bikes were new,they are all works finish NOT the nickel plated version and they will NOT be cone section,though i could ask about getting those made if you have a couple of grand to throw at one?
I believe MC used both HRC and PC pipes on the steel framed CR 250's but for when and what i'd have to ask Mitch.

Thanks, Doc! It's really great that you are having a run made. It says a lot about the enduring popularity of these bikes that Works Connection also did a batch of frame guards. Now, if we could only convince Honda to do another run of 2 strokes!

ive just emailed asking for an ETA,im sure it wont be long now,ive ordered 10 of the 92/94 and 10 of the 95/96.
do you think i should do them with silencers to match as i need to order these in a minumum of 10 at a time also.

im sorry i dont understand how that guy thinks the same pipe will fit either?
Pro circuit tell me there's a part number for the 1992 through 1994 bike and another part number for the 1995 & 1996 bike,i can double check but i think thats the year split.

All the 92-96 Pro Circuit CR250 Pipes fit any 92-96 CR250. PC had at least four variations of the 92-96 pipe. The two most common are the "PH92250" sold from 1992-1994 and the "PH95250" sold from 1995-1996. Performance wise, they all work equally well in my opinion. I am unable to tell any difference when switching back and forth between them.

My McGrath Replica has the "PH92250" version which I like the best because it looks the most like the factory HRC pipe. It's smaller, more tucked in, uses only one o-ring on the flange and it's a bit lighter.



My Henry Replica has the "PH95250" version which has two o-rings on the flange and sticks out a little more:



Barkhard's 95 has the latest one they came up with in 96. I like this one the least because its fatter and barely clears the kickstart and radiator hoses and it's a pain to remove due to its shape and size. It uses two o-rings and its the heaviest version:

Put the footpegs and swingarm on today. Footpegs are Pro Circuit. Here's some before shots of what the swingarm looked like







These plates were removed and sent to the zinc platers with the hardware.

Rear axle was re-zinced. Chain guide and rubber block are new OEM parts. Axle blocks are new OEM parts also. Chain slider, washers and screws were all new OEM parts on the first rebuild.
What glue did you use for this connection (swingarm/axle holders) please? Thanks

Hey, thought this would be a good thread to ask the question - Just picked up an as new 96 cr250 that's been in storage since 1998 - was shipped to Australia from Mississippi.. anyways, in the box of spares that came with it were an unused Honda racing ignition cover (I'm assuming it's an original item and not a replica as it's a cast item) There is also an original set of tecnosel replica decals and seat cover of the 96 motocross des nations CR's - is there much value in these parts? Figure they would be better off funding a set of crf forks for the bike rather than get lost in the shed..

Those parts are rare, so maybe $200 total.

This is not a HRC pipe, maybe SPES. Kurt Nicoll rode with SPES on his CR250 (most of the time).

Why don't you guys run the stuff from het HRC kits that where available in those days, must be around somewhere (I got one Smile , but want to use it for a replica next year. If someone needs pics I can post them if you like. The exhaust of the kit was bad, only top end, most used SPES in europe (Greg Albertijn replica's).
