To elaborate a little on a previous post, are there any bikes out there that you feel would be competitive in their appropriate classes today? We saw a RMX250 on here the other day that held it's own. What bikes do you feel could still be raced today?

My BEST bike of all time?

The 1986 CR125 was the best bike I ever had. Raced it in MX and HS and trail rode it. Did everything on it. It never let me down and would go anywhere. I would run up on guys on the trail who had fouled a plug (or thought so) swap my plug for theirs and we'd both go back to riding.
Thats hard to answer straight up because of the class changes. I guess everyone agrees that the 250SX is pretty much the best modern smoker on the market but it's not really competitive against modern 450s. So you have to figure a '87 CR250 or '97 KX250 isn't going to do much better against the 450s.

Yeah man. I had a 1984 CR250.

Not as refined as the later models that came in the next 4 years, but thats what I loved about it.

That engine was like a bomb going off between your legs. Biggest midrange burst of any 2 stroke I had ridden back then.

2005 crf450r. this bike was so good, i regret to this day getting rid of it. amazing motor, great chassis, great suspension (reynard had the factory fork specs, best fork I have ever had, hands down). reliable, do everything comfortably, great damn bike

The bike that started the four stroke millenium for me and by far my greatest memory of a motorcycle ever would be the 02 YZ250F!!! One ride of my buddies bike and the next day my 2 stroke was for sale and I had an 02 YZ250F within a month...

1985 KX125 The BEST bike EVER made.

2000 'Berg to this day I still say it is the coolest looking bike ever. Mine was 22lbs lighter than the Yamaha that year...shhhhh dont tell anyone that I cheated.
