WOW!,.. That is REALLY nice looking!!!,... Up until I saw that photo I wouldn't have given a set of Black rims on my '93 a second thought,.. but now... Smile ... Those Red hubs really set it off as well! - Great Job!

What pipe is that on there... ?

loving the read-up on these old-school restorations, nice to know I'm not the only bloke who isn't interested in plugging my laptop into my bike, can really appreciate the time and money that goes into these builds - you know it's never going to be a good financial descision when the cheapest part of the bike is the actual purchase of the bike itself..

Is there any interest in some sort of group buy for a PC factory pipe for the 92-96 cr250? I heard that its possible o get PC to make a run of pipes but a certain quantity is needed. Or possibly a Bills pipe.

I have been looking for a Bills pipe for a 93-97 CR125 for over a year. At this point I would settle for just about any pipe that wasn't nickle/chrome!................

You can get the chrome plating removed. It's talked about elsewhere in this thred.

Belgium exhaust pipe manufacturer SPES still make a works finish, raw steel pipe for 1994, 1995 and 1996 CR250. Their distributor is: Racer 110% in France. These are very good quality pipes, see website here:

SPES also list the raw finish, works pipe for all years 1991 to 2007 CR125.

honda east toledo had a couple of works PC pipes for 95-96 CR250 on ebay only a couple of months ago. I grabbed one almost 6 months ago and can't believe the other one they had stayed listed for so long.

Anyone tried to mount a 2000/01 pipe o their 92-96 CR? The cylinders are the same configuration... maybe the aluminum frame is in the way..?

I just bought the last 92/94 they had on eBay for my 1993. Planning a McGrath themed bike, but it will be ridden.

i just ordered works finish Pro Circuit pipes for the 92/94 and 95/96 CR 250.
should be ready in 4 weeks, fingers crossed.
Unfortunatley getting PC to do a relatively small production run of old pipes isnt cheap but no-one ever complained about quality...

yes i dont see why not.
Ill post on here when i get a date theyre done,it'll be easier to ship direct than send them here to the UK and re-direct them once theyre here im sure.
price isnt set in stone yet,it depends if they have the old stampings in stock or they need to re-order which gets more expensive.
like i said its not a discount option getting pro Circuit to re-make these but its the only "right" thing to have on a decent resto job in my opinion.

hey Col,

when you did the rear brake upgrade did you use the 97 caliper and carrier? Or just the carrier?

You were saying you needed a Yamaha banjo bolt, I'm guessing this was the one that goes into the caliper so the bolt clears the top of the swingarm? What model Yamaha? And did you have to machine the carrier at all?

I got a real nice set of 97 brakes on e-bay and am trying the use the entire set-up as my 96 brakes are stuffed. The MC is slightly different, but by changing the fitting to the resovoir hose it actually fits pretty good.

Jim I bought a complete brand new caliper and carrier off a 97-99 CR250, but just the carrier will suffice. The calipers are the same. I just bought it as a complete set because the cost of both wasn't much more than the carrier on it's own. From Service Honda the price is only $47 more for the complete set-up. Brand new they are only $100 for the carrier (4) and $147 for the carrier and caliper (7)

I have a 2008 YZ250 also and just orderred the banjo bolt off that model. Most late model YZ and YZF's would be the same I'd imagine but that one definitely works. And yep it's the bolt that bolts the hose to the caliper. Washers will need to be orderred seperately if you want those as well.

No machining is required.

Make sure you're looking at a 250 carrier as the 97 125 carrier is the same as the 96 250 carrier. You want either 97-99 250 or 98-99 125.

Cheers

Now we just need Works Connection to make another run of alloy frame guards !!
