He will pass him I think, I dont think it will be this year but who knows a healthy JS is the fastest SX rider of all time.

Huge Stewart fan, but he won one race. Same thing happened when he won oakland last year and we all know how that went. I like his attitude this season though, just kind of going with it and not expecting to much. Good to hear him looking towards the future and being healthy for outdoors aswell.

Stewart could win one or two more, 3 I doubt. He can't come through the pack like he could when only him and Reed has the top level speed. There are 6 guys who could win on any given night, I actually think Millsaps has speed we haven't seen yet. Stewart looked good last night but Millsaps looks effortless every week

I reckon JS is faster than JM. Not as many wins but faster for sure.

He can take 3 more SO yes. He will take 3 more.

When JM made his comeback he was according to him faster than he ever was but he never won another race. The pace had increased too much. Still has the record though.

I think if Stewart and McGrath grew up at the same time, whether it be the early nineties, or mid 2000's, Mcgrath would have been fastest. He was smart, had a game plane, executed like no other and knew his place and didn't let anyone get in his way.

When he showed JM speed it was a crap shoot whether he was going to win or pile drive himself. Now He doesn't have that speed consistently but doesn't hit the deck nearly as much. JM is the King for many reasons, consistency and speed among them.

He said the fastest (as in pure speed).... not the winningest rider of all time you jackass.

I think James will win a bunch more now, possibly 4 or 5. His win was extremely impressive. He was under severe pressure from RV the whole race and on a slick, difficult track where mistakes came easy - and yet he dealt with it no problem. I kept waiting for Ralph to announce at any moment " And James Stewart is down!!...." but thankfully it never came.

He looks awesome on the Suzuki this year. Plus he can ride a little more free that both Ryan's and certainly Davi because on paper at least, at this point the championship's more or less gone.

The last time Stewart Senior starting talking about records, JS7's career derailed. Great thread. Grinning

ME TOO - whenever I heard the crowd oooing and aaaaring in the background (because they never filmed the front 2 WTF!) i was like , oh shit he is down - then there was that Suzuki in a berm with no rider and i was like...arrrrgggh is it Stewart...glad it wasn't , damn glad it wasn't!

Oh they have a record for that? Jackass. There's only one measure of speed. Jackass.

Actually there are alot of different ways to measure speed. MPH, KMH ,Ft per second, Miles per second, etc... the ways to measure speed are damn near limitless......

I mentioned in a post or two a few weeks ago and RC or Fro mentioned on the broadcast on Saturday - James could become the "spolier"...As the series whinds down and RV, Milsaps and Dungey (only guys I see having a shot at it unless some sillyness goes down) get into the point for points battle, James can nail some starts and they may just let him go...Not sure if that is what RV did on Saturday night in ATL, but he didnt make that RV charge we are used to seeing...For RV, a guy who I root for, the RV charge lately has not gone so well.....

So yes, James can certainly win 2 or 3 more races this year.... DAYTONA is going to be the shit!!!

Maybe, when McGrath made his comeback he was according to he faster than he was when he retired. BUT he had missed a lot of time and the evolution marched on. Not a lot unlike James spending so much time on the couch (in recent years) as evolution marched on. He's back but damn everybody is fast.

Scoreboard. MacDaddy is the King-stamp it. 73 wins claims "King" status-till then, pffft. Fastest, best, whatever. The scoreboard settles the issue.

I don't know. It's so tough to get much more than mid 40's. That's where they all seem to fizz out. I think he'll pass Carmichael next year. I doubt anyone gets 50 though.

As for those of you arguing about fastest, that's impossible to say. Too many different interpretations of the word. Fastest for a lap? For a race? For a season? For a career? Does it go by races won? Most fast laps set? Most championships? Is durability a factor? Way too vague.

I don't remember which year it was but I think it will be a lot like when Reed won the last five or six supercrosses because RC had a million point lead on him. I bet Stewart will win at least a couple more supercrosses this year because Millsaps and Villopoto will be too worried about each other.

Yes if going by wins one can use any math they prefer and still come up with the same result.

2 guys from Washington, Poto fans,
2 guys from Texas, Stewart fans,
I've watched em both race as amatuers in TX at Mosier Valley and Lake Whitney in the day and Stewie was more dominant.
No they didn't race together or same class, but I mean in their respective years as amatuers.
How many wins does Stewart need in SX to pass RC?
2/26/2013 12:23pm
McG 72 wins
RC 48 wins
JS7 45 wins
CR 42 wins
