Was James Foreshadowing?

Edited Date/Time 2/17/2013 6:32pm
On the broadcast, when questioned about having Big James in the mechanics area, James responded : "I started with him by my side and I'm going to finish with him there."

Is the end near for James?

Be careful with large words like that, this is Vital. Some will not know what foreshadowing means.

I think its just a frase he probably heard someone else say during the day and he paroted it. I see nothing to it.

The team must have put a new clutch in between the heat and main and assembled something wrong? Too bad they couldnt have laid the thing over on its side behind the starting line and tore into it. Would have made for good tv.

Whatever, lol. There's nothing going on with James. He had a mechanical at the start and couldn't race. No big deal.

Am I missing something here or do you really not know what is going on inside this thread?

How does a professional race team change clutch plates and do it "wrong?" I can change clutch plates in 10 minutes using a jackhammer and a banana and not screw it up. And I'm no professional mechanic (as you'd be likely to guess, since I use a jackhammer and a banana for tools.) How the hell did they get the bike down to the starting line if the clutch wasn't working? They ride them down there, you know.
I'm not going to say that there is definitely something going on with James, but even my wife said "there's always something with him, isn't there?"

But then we would have been looking at the guts of a recluse clutch on TV.

what kind of banana? Regular size or one of those little bastards? I imagine you can get more torque with a green one..

Oh and they said it went out during the parade lap so it was fine when they drove it down to the track I guess...

no, i think you are right... he appears to have no idea....

@Sandberm:
I thought the same thing, at least pull the cover off and see what was going on right? I mean if it is a regular style clutch (non-auto) you would think they could replace the whole thing in about 2 minutes or less.... (I suppose it was the time needed to run to the semi and back for the parts)

And yes, foreshadowing was the first thing that came to my mind.... Like he's over it and going to finish out the season by going back to his roots and having fun.
funny
-IF-
that was the case...
his "luck" might start to turn around....

Clutch was fine when they rolled down to the main. It failed on the sighting lap.

They didn't have enough minutes to get bike back to rig (outside of the stadium), replace broken parts, zip it together and back to the start line.

Is the end near for James?
No, but the end was near for big James. If James hadn't got a start in the heat with big James down with him he would have had his mechanic back on the line with him at the start of the main. James got a decent start in the heat so big James was back on the line for the main "he started with him and he finished with him". It was all about bringing the routine of the practice week down to the line at the actual race, Big James is there during the week not his mechanic and James wanted him there during the race so it would "feel more routine.

That comment had nothing to do with his career.

Mechanic (to himself): " I don't get my TV time on the starting line anymore? **** this! Let's see how fast Big James can fix a clutch problem. "

You are correct. He has seen the line fit, and worked for Ryan and said "I want it, I'm taking it".
