I thought that was the most insulting use of Harvey's work....not the farmer part, the Chrysler pimping their product part.

Well you arent the audience they were talking to, because all the folks I know who farm, raise cattle, and live an Ag lifestyle loved the commercial, bigtime. Including myself. And any corporation who is brave enough to use the word GOD and bible passages, images of a family praying and a fella praying in a church pew, knows how rural America thinks.

Yeah, I have close friends in Kansas who have the typical farmer/Christian/etc. lifestyle. Two of them were texting me during the game, and both thought it was shallow to leverage the lifestyle for profit. I guess some Christians have no problem with it.

The real question is, WWJD?

Nice bait Capt. Bligh. Its not "leveraging the lifestyle" at all. At least they havent forgotten that demographic exists.

If your two friends didnt like the commercial, tell 'em to go buy another brand and STFU.

Let's face it, every commercial is trying to use whatever tug at the heartstrings they can to sell their product, can't really call Chrysler out for being any different.
It was pretty well done and I can definitely see it hitting the target for their demographic.
Nice imagery and I have to admit it made me think of my Uncles farm and the farms I ran around and played on as a kid.

I'm more bummed out about the fact that that farmer they portray in that commercial is being forced out of business by companies that continually drive the market down.

I liked it very much too, since my pop grew up on a farm and we had a close friend from church that we'd spend some weekends on their farm. I could see my dad loved that kind of environment, and I did too. But, about halfway through the commercial I realized every single vehicle was a Chrysler (duh....of course it would be), and that they wouldn't burn a commercial during the Super Bowl to truly promote something other than their product. I kinda felt like how even the government would leverage the flag-waving patriotism just to stir the emotions and get their audience doing something they might not otherwise.

So, yeah, I was disappointed.

It was a good commercial. It was well targeted and hit the mark it was trying to hit.

If you didn't like or appreciate the commercial, you weren't the target demographic

Seemed a little biased to me you see a lot more brown faces on farms than what was shown on that commercial.

You must be speaking to mega-farms but not where I live. Truth is, very few brown faces at all. More black faces than brown. Black folks where I am at love to farm and ranch too.

I wonder how small time farmers can even afford a new Dodge 3500 dually.
I priced one recently. $61,000 and it really wasn't fully loaded.

You can get one way cheaper than that.

Houston is showing $42-to-47K and that is without going in and dealing. Walk in with money and you can get one for less.

Farmer's tend to be darker because of the long hot days spent in the sun.

If you find something to bitch about in that video, you're trying to hard. We need more farmer's!

I liked it. I'd like to see them do similar ones on drilling rig personnel, iron workers, people like that. America spends too much time worrying about the next generation of business consultants and accountants who drive BMWs and too little time mentoring people who build things, put food on our tables and make our lights come on when we flip the switch, and drive pickup trucks to get that done. If all the accountants in America went away for a week, nobody would notice. If all the farmers, energy workers and builders went away, you'd think the Apocolypse happened.

Or doesn't think.

People showing off their faith or sucking up to others that have it just makes them look dumb.

If George Carlin is still doing comedy, do you think some of the subject matter may have changed?
