Showa seems to be switching it up quite abit with their upper tubes coatings i saw that JGR is running the silver this weekend that Factory kawi has been running since A1. Makes ya wonder if the coatings signify different upper tubes between the teams, if its just for show, or trying out new coatings for friction ect.Wink

thats what i was thinking different coatings on the upper tubes really make a differance it seems that showa has a lot of options for the riders.

The head pipe on the 450 looks like something they picked up at Home Depot.
Comes off as a serious afterthought. Ug lee

Reed's new Oakland forks have a much larger diameter upper tube than his A2 forks. You can see a taper under the top clamp in the A2 photo, but the Oakland photo has no taper between the upper and lower clamp

I've never heard of ugly aging well. After all this time, you'd think they could fix it.
I think they just add 2 inches a year

ya i seen that to! it looks like the old bigger diameter forks on the 08 factory 450. maybe they work better on the new handa then they did on the 09-12 bike.

To get a little off the subject, but you would imagine the power character between the to bikes should be much different based on the header length
