Maybe then Ralph, Ricky and Jeff could get to know the 3 digit guys' names and teams a little better. They have been terrible about it lately.

While they are doing the track prep for the LCQ's they could at least showcase the 36 that have made both finals so far.

Much better than idiots running around in sumo suits...do they still do that?

You see it in nearly every other motosport. The announcers on a telecast will run through each car and driver or bike and rider as they do their warm up laps or lap, with a quick run down on their qualifying position, their standings in the championship and some type of interesting point about the rider/driver and or the team.

Why cant we see this with SX. Make the riders go out on their sight lap before the main in reverse qualifying orders. Live at the track the track announcer could introduce the rider and the team they are riding for, and then the same happen on the live TV broadcast, sure beats listing to three guys talk about the key to the race!

The sport has any chance of long term survival with consistent teams hanging around the pits for more than a couple of years apart from the top few, the guys that are making the top 20 at least need some coverage and promotion both live at the track and live on television.

What is more likely to bring a sponsor to the sport, having the commentators on a telecast that is available live around the United States and many places round the world, talk about each individual team and an image of the bike and sponsors live on the screen, OR a head shot of three commentators talking about the Keys to the race and mentioning the top 3-5 guys only?

Promote the riders, the teams and their sponsors and give the sponsors a reason to stick around! Same with the Outdoor coverage, it is not like there is not enough time especially when it is a live broadcast.
I have been saying this same thing for years. I see no reason it couldn't be done. In fact when supercross first hit the scene every rider was mentioned on their siting lap. But, somehow that got lost in the huppla. We tought the best riders in the world at these events, but can't mention the names and sponsors of the top 20 guys lining up for a main event. It is certainly shorting the people paying the bills and making these events the success they are.
