Don't get me wrong,...I am as big a Canard fan as any, but I did not like seeing him give the spot up to Millsaps at A1 or lose that key position to Villipoto at Phoenix.

I think our boy needs to just focus and put the hammer down,. he's got the speed and the skill, just needs to lock in mentally and close the deal. I think it will be a drag race between him and Barcia for the title.

Can you imagine the emotions going through him at these points? Three races ago his career and even his life came very close to ending. To even be walking at this point is a blessing -- to be back in contention is a GIGANTIC feat that I'm sure he recognizes. He's obviously used to the race pace and once he gets back into the swing of things mentally I'm certain these mistakes will disappear. The emotional pressures that come with riding up front just can't be simulated.

Choke? He didn't choke he did what countless riders did throughout practice, qualifing and the mains. The 2 jumps prior to that turn for some reason caused havic all day. To much speed caused problems, not enough and well you see what happened. That track was technical for sure. I watched loads of guys hit the deck......I think he has not even hit his stride yet. Good things to come.

Mental mistakes. Choking. What ever you want to call it.

He lost the race, by himself, with no one else to blame.

Happens to everyone.

Another day, another lunatic thread.

I thought that was supposed to go away after the new season started?

He "lost the race"? Really? I bet he feels that he won. Sure seemed like it after both races.

Has not raced in over a year. He is way I mean way ahead of anyone's expectactions. The kid almost won his first race back, except for a last lap mistake. And last weekend with RV on him, that must be a lot of pressure....

At the speed an intensity that these guys are going the one who makes the least mistakes is going to win...... RV has made mistakes that have cost him, RD has made mistakes that have cost him, JS has made mistakes that have cost him same with Reed, Millsaps and Barcia.

Its not choking, what are you like 10 years old. I haven't heard that term since middle school.

Now STFU cool_hand and ice_man.

If TC choked these past two weekends, then RV was deepthroating it at A1. Then RV choked at Phoenix(on a different lap). RD choked pretty hard at Phoenix but was able to turn lemons into orange juice. Countless other riders also "choked" at Phoenix. Losing the front end and Phoenix SX go together like peanut butter and jelly.

EVERYBODY in this thread would need oxygen by about the 4th lap if we tried to ride at his pace and I"m sure by the end of the moto he was tired and his focus wasnt 100%. People seem to forget that the kid had a broken back not that long ago and hasnt been on the bike that long.
give him a little more time and we will see a win from him.

I won't disagree. He made big mental mistakes while leading/in second the past two weekends. Not making excuses (because I don't like excuses), but it has been over 20 months since he was in the mix. I feel like he'll be stronger and stronger (as will most every one else), and now he knows he has the speed.

Honestly, it kind of irritates me that Ricky and Jeff only mention that good for Trey, he's back out there. He is back out there, and he is on point. Sign of the lap times for the last two weeks show that. That is all. Back to my cave.

Trey has GOT to be a mental GIANT! To come back from the injuries he's endured the past several years, and still have the mental aptitude and strength to run that pace...its mind boggling to me! I have no idea how he does it...I'd be cowering in a corner.

I'll excuse a couple of mistakes...it is racing after all and it happens to the best of them...and simply stand in awe of what that guy is doing right now. As his confidence gets stronger, those mistakes will become less common...
