Honda has 3 fractory riders now - can they afford a 4th?
Kawa has 2 and seems to be happy with 2.
Yamaha has JGR - dont see that happening.
So could it be he goes to KTM or back to his roots of Suzuki?
Both only have 1 factory rider and should have the $$$.

Bet he stays at geico as a 450 rider, or factory honda finds a way to pay him, Honda or geico gotta keep him some how some way. Ktm had rd, kroc and Musquin, how much can they afford? Suzuki prolly just has money for stewart , but who knows. Imo he is the next stud in the 450 class. Kawy rv, weimer. Jgr have the money? new designed bike?
I'm with mxb2; I forsee Tomac staying w/ GEICO Honda; especially in the sense that he'll transition into Windham's spot . If next year is going to be Windham's last year racing (someone correct me if I'm wrong on that...) then having Windham there w/ Tomac would be good. Having a seasoned vet get Tomac up to speed would be good for all parties involved and GEICO is a good program.

KTM already has Roczen riding the 450 next year

I also think he'll stay at Geico, especially with this possibly being Windhams last year
Don't know if it's true if so, 94 need to slow down everything goes in a too high pace
He's in an emotional rollercoaster from 15 years old at some point the mind says Stop,
perfect candidate for a Bradshaw like burnout if he continues like this, hope i'm wrong

Re: Steed 2.0

He's got no choice. Scored over 120 points in both the last 2 seasons, and unless he injures himself, he will score over 120 points this season too

On a side note. Baggett is free to do 250 SX again next year now that he is out.

How is Windham going to get Tomac up to speed when he is already 2 seconds a lap faster? I'm guessing he goes to the team with the biggest checkbook, which seems to be JGR. Brayton & Grant are just placeholders.......

Honda will offer him Canards ride if he wins SX and MX this year.

If Honda lets him out from under any RED tent (Geico or Factory) they are either smoking rocks or need to lay of some corporate to cover this boys contracts.. If Factory Honda signs him the Big Red Machine will be breathing fire once again!!! As I watched phx thou I believe RC is gonna make a huuugggeee run at him.. You could hear it his voice & listen that he's focusing on Tomac that all he gets out is all these pc statements like I'm super impressed with Eli, look at him tracking in that corner, and basic comments.. When in reality Ricky is scrolling through his contacts searching for additional funding to secure Tomac, all the more really thinking holly shit I haven't seen this intensity on the track, well since myself.

Who ever signs him will surely get a damn good ROI, because he's a worker.. He comes from a great family that will always keep him humble and grounded.. The pics of him are priceless of him bow hunting near his families Colorado ranch, he's the All-American boy.. Marketing dream for the future of our sport. Cool

Maybe the question to ask is this... Who do you think GEICO would want to hire to replace Windham?

Geico will be the front runner.

But these teams will all be bidding for his services I would think:

RCH, twotwo, McBrooks, yoshimura?

He and Dean will have their pick.

How many teams can afford him? I doubt 22 or RHC would be able to.

This summer is gonna be so awesome...IF everyone can stay healthy thru the SX season.
I heard this too Scottie, back during silly season. Could be very cool, though I wouldnt mind seeing him get a 250 outdoor title first, though I think he is already ready for the 450.

I wouldnt mind seeing him on 22, if Chad continues to go racing even if Reed doesnt race. Also, JGR would be neat, those guys put in the work, they just have had some bad luck.

These days the factories put the $$$ in the bikes-resources-team etc. and let other sponsors kick $$$ in for the riders contracts...IE muscle milk honda,Monster kawasaki,Makita suzuki,RedBull KTM etc.... ... I still see RCH Suzuki making a run at tomac this summer for next year.

Make that three of us. RC sees a world beater in the making. What a way to blow up RCH racing by getting Tomac. I would rather see Eli on the 450 outdoors this year. He's so big on the 250. I'd have a hard time picking against him too. Fucking beast outdoors just like SX!

I would be amazed if Honda let this guy go. I think Honda will have a 3 rider team next year. At the very least, he'll stay with Factory Connection Honda.

There is this thing that Windham has; it's called experience. That's why you see guys like Barcia working w/ Stanton, Lusk w/ Milsaps. With Windham already there and Tomac ready to take the next step up in his career, it'd be benefical to all parties involved for a seasoned vet to work w/ someone that will be going to the big bikes next year. If Tomac is smart (which he sounds like he is), then I'd expect him to stay w/ GEICO. Race wins and Championships generally bring out the big bucks and I'm sure GEICO Honda would be more than happy to spend it if they got those race wins and championships in the 450 class indoors and out.

Tomac has a good group around him including his father and long time riding coach buddy atinez (spelling?)
