Was Tomac the fastest at A1?

Was it just me but did Tomac look like he had the smoothest transitions and highest level of track management out of everyone, including the 450's? Lap times?

According to RX, his best lap in the 250 main was better than any of the 450 riders' best laps in their main, but he was the only 250 in the 55's, while there were 5-6 450 riders in the 55's.

And the track had deteriorated appreciably by then, too. Tomac is right up there with those guys, though.

He really had that track dialed. The way he dowsided sections and transitioned was a sight to see. I think that if he was "beamed" to the front on the start he could have won the 450 main.

the crazy one is RV, who still ran a 58.8 average even with the off-track excursion and 2 falls

As high as I am on the future of Eli Tomac, anyone who has ever raced at the highest levels knows Lap times aint shit. Pressure , intimidation, fitness, and the different power and handling characteristics between a 250 and a 450 change everything. Millsaps was the fastest, he got to the checkered flag first.

Back in the 125 days, we saw KW, RC, JS and others put down the fastest lap of the night.

Given the results of their riding when these guys moved up in their first year, don't expect Tomac to move up next year to the 450 and gap these guys by a 1/2 second a lap.

I understand. I wasn't really talking about lap times as much as his mastery(if that is a word) of the track. I liked how he downsided the table top section, for instance. I realize the negatives of getting caught up in lap times, I just think his ride Saturday night was good enough that, as bench racing goes, it would have been interesting to "drop" him at the front of the 450 pack and see what could happen.

Worth mentioning, Tomac ran that quick without any pressure at all the whole main. Canard/DM were up in each other's shit for all 20 laps.

Not that it really matters peelout but go back and check out RV's lap times and the so called calculated average. He has a max listed at 101 yet he had a lap of 111 and 125, interesting. Anyone want a monster energy drink? Not slammin RV but it is what it is.

Canard and Millsaps killed it...that being said I think Tomac woulda beat everyone in 450 even on his 250...he is silly fast.

Eli would have been a fun distraction on his 250 in the 450 class but certainly NOT a factor in the main event. But it won't be long till he is a real factor in the 450 class.

Here is peelouts claim of RV ave 58.8 straight off amasupercross.com. No need to question the data because the new rule is RV can throw out his worst 3 or 4 laps, but no one else can. RV was lapped by the top 4 on lap 15 and still he is only 2 seconds down on average? Time for another monster tastes like shit energy drink.

I agree. We all saw the potential when he won his first race. To me it seemed like something else clicked though last season. You always heard about RC and Bubba having that "extra" gear and I think Tomac has it. Oh yeah he's a beast outdoors too and already close to being oversized for a 250f

You made the point how close RV's ave was to the leaders even though he crashed 3 times, I just clarified they did not count those laps. I had no intention of blaming you for the bogus data, just thought I would explain for those who believe everything they read to be 100% accurate. As far as bringing you up to be a douche, no need, you do a good enough job of that on your own.
