I really like JG and want nothing more than to see him podium if I had to pick a single person.

That being said, if I had to bet money, no he will not podium, ever again in SX.

He has Daniel Crower Racing grinding his cams...he'll have crap ton of bottom end I bet....I expect a hole shot or two...if that happens...he can get on the box.

His history leads me to believe that he won't make it through the season -- I could see him landing a few to 5s though.

JG33 is a rider who has an incredible abundance of natural talent on a bike.

If JG from 09 shows healthy and confident I say top 5 is very manageable.

I'm a grant fan so hoping he shows up strong at A1 and carries it through a whole season!

He's amazing to watch ride a bike.

He, along with about 10 other guys, have a chance to be best of the rest. I don't see anyone other than the top 6 being on the podium this year unless it's a mudder. Maybe Windham, maybe.

I have been off and on the josh grant bandwagon over the years. I was on it big time when he was on a 250f. Then when he got on a big bike I think he got kinda burnt out plus all the stuff with his mother. I kind of lost faith in the guy. I will admit that I misread his issues as him not working hard enough. I am back on the wagon and hope to see this kid pull through. It appears he has been through alot. It also teaches me the age old lesson of not judging a book by the cover. Every guy out there is out there because they are fighters!

His starts were great at Monster Millions and from the couple of the videos I've seen lately I think Josh is back. Top five with a couple of podiums.

This is his time to shine and he knows it, that being said, yes, he will get on the podium several times in SX.

Yep. Josh Grant has that raw speed that most riders spend their entire career trying to capture. It's those smaller pieces of the puzzle (being healthy, a good structure) that need to be put together for him to challenge the superstars of the sport. However, he already has the hardest piece to acquire, speed. All it would take is some things to go his way and he could be leading a few laps...

^^^^^^^^^^^^^ This.

Looking at the "fast 5" from 2011, rarely did the fast 5 not finish 1-5. This year, we have the fast 6. Only crashes, mechanicals or injuries will allow anyone of the "1a" group to crack the top 5, yet alone podium or win.

The 1a list is long and Josh certainly has a chance to be near the top of that group. I wish him luck. Besides Windham, probably my favorite "1a" guy... Maybe because Mrs Grant used to be my favorite Monster girl. (is that a good reason?)

I've become a big Grant fan.

I'd say he can do well again this year, if he can stay heathy.

Hell, he got a Supercross podium and did the same outdoors in 2012 and that was considered a recovery year for him. He is also a past Supercross winner and has won a 450 national moto when Dungey was untouchable. Obviously he has the speed.

I wish him good luck.

True but his supercross podium last year was
against an incredibly thin field. It's stacked this year,
he'll be in the top ten but a podium is pushing it.

K now. It was a nice win that wouldn't have happened if cr js and kw didn't go down. I totally get that a win is a win and you need to be "in" it to win it, but it's not like he smoked the field. And I'm a grant fan, have a no fear jersey of his.

I think if he stays healthy it all depends on what he puts into it. If he has been putting the work in anything is possible. I always look at it like the gate at a supercross is filled with guys who are super talented.......then there are the "elite" guys who can do video game stuff on the bike. Josh Grant is one of those guys.

I think if he can start the year with some good finishes and gain some confidence we can see him podium/top 5 with the right circumstances.

Now if he struggles at the beginning I can see him struggling the entire year.

Guess you forgot about the Monster Energy Cup already...

Well maybe, just maybe... the confidence of him knowing that he has already won a SX main event will propel him to the box. Maybe the fact the dude is married and has a son has calmed him down and made him more concentrated on the task at hand. Racing for a W. And a title. And we know he doesn't take crap from RD5, RV2, JS7, or CR; so the fact that he has the same backing with three added years of research and development will make him even more confident in his abilities.

all of this is "I.M.H.O"

legal disclaimer- so i don't get sued!! Woohoo

LOL.

Grants whole career bottomed out after he slammed 800 for no reason. Not sure if its karma or coinsedence. I still hope he does okay, the more the merrier.

They have history and it's not like 800 hasn't wrecked plenty of people besides Grant. Youtube is full of videos proving it.
