He pulled off after going down and in dead last on a sprint race because he was leading the Lites West Sx Champoinship....no reason to risk it. Im stoked he will be there and whatever peice ESPN is working on for "Bad Boy of MX" will likely explode his exposuer fame and popularity with the fans.

So what - he was there to either win or quit? Whatever. If RC crashed and was dead last do you think he would have quit? Unless he was hurt or had bike problems, he should have finished the race for his fans and sponsors.
Ahhhhhhh more RC if's......Laughing

Bottom line, if RC was working on obtaining his FIRST SX champoinship not him umteenth he would have done the same.

JLaw: “Yeah, you know, I just want to let everybody know I’m learning from my mistakes. I’m never going to be the clean cut poster boy some people think I should be, but to the people that are important to me – my friends and family, sponsors and, mostly, my fans – I plan on being the same rowdy, take-no-$%@! racer you can either come to cheer for or hate – I’m good with it either way.

IM glad he's sticking to his roots on this......as long as he can keep it together at the races he will be the same JLaw ego and im looking forward to having him back!

I've been here, just don't post a lot since there are too many people on this board now and too many kids talking shit.

Thanks for bringing back bad memories. Are you guys drilling in the forbidden wilderness yet?

Missed you at the annual ride this year, you coming up next year?

After his antics early this summer, I heard through the grapevine, Jason Lawrence has not been cut from YOT and will be at the X*Games aboard a Yamaha of Troy machine.

I guess we'll see if the outpatient rehab courses have helped this youngster out after a short period of time.
I don't see poker, golf, spelling bees, pool, bowling,WNBA,tennis, womens college softball, beach volleyball or fishing on Speed.

Absolutely coming to PHX (If TJ will have us again).

We are drilling everything in site and killing every caribou, otter and bear that gets in our way and spilling oil everywhere with reckless abandon.

I can't post often either due to work and blah-blah-blah.

Keep them sprocket bolts tight there Homey!

Well damn, at least someone has the balls to start getting some oil at the cost of a few useless animals. Keep up the good work.

Truth be told, he wasn't fired because there wasn't an AMA ruling that was concrete until almost a week later.

If the AMA had said something immediately it probably would have been a different story. People had time to cool off, and make decisions based on what would be best for them in the long run.

Now we'll just have to wait and see.

Ok Dave so you believe the things you read on the net, we get it. I think as recent as Monday you said J-Law is without a ride. Going by that, he just put the deal together to ride X, well yesterday.

I saw Gibby and Transworld both said J-Law was fired, but that was right after the incident. I called them both out then, Gibby never responded nor did Swap.

You are still saying he was fired as recently as Monday? Like you said things change, guess you were left out of the loop on this one.

This isn't the stock market Dave, perception doesn't matter here.

Just where are all the loud mouths, who were saying all his sponsors left him at now?

Yeah, like a short stint helps a disease that in most all cases is lifelong.....all know the long list of celebs that this hasn't worked on until they took a long lockup period to come to grips with not only the alcoholism, but the mental issues that are involved as well.

Until he takes his disease seriously enough, all the shortlived outpatient rehab courses in the world will not help.....Maybe a temp bandaid. Look at all the celebs that constantly are in/out of rehab; in/out patient, court ordered, etc...and still screw up.

He has a golden opp.

I hope the guy takes his situation seriously since he does have many fans and would be a tragic waste of talent he worked so hard to achieve.

I guess you could call it an oil dividend check.

It is officially called the Permanent Fund Dividend check. (PFD)

All of the state royalties for oil go in to a huge investment dealio.
It is on a 5 year cycle.
If the market was good 5 years ago, then you will get a cool check in October.
If the market sucked, you get a little check.

These checks have been as little as 300 bucks to as much as 1800 bucks and they are for every man, woman and child regardless of age as long as you are an Alaskan resident.
I know people that have several kids and they get a hell of a windfall of moola when this comes around.
It is kind of like the 'stimulus check' that everyone got but we get one every year.
FYI: We have no state tax here either.
I think us and Montana are the only 2.
No state sales tax either.
Only local borugh taxes.
In Anchorage, if something is labeled as 9.99 and you give them a ten dollar bill, they give you a penny back. Way cool.
They do check closely for residency status and prosecute like hell on people who try to cheat and get a check.
Expecting mothers are always gleeful when they have their babies before new years cause that means another check in the family.

There is a lot to this check and the dividend fund that has to do with Alaska even being a state. It draws back from the day of 1959 when Alaska wanted to be a state but the USA did not see it being able to sustain itself.
Oil was discovered in that year and then Alaska proved itself.
The permanent dividend fund was adopted to support the state if the oil ever ran out.
The dividend checks to the residents are kind of like what you would get from holding a stock.

Hope that explains it.

Can anyone here say for certain that Jlaw is an addict or has a serious drug/alcohol problem? I'm not claiming to know, but there is a huge difference between someone that parties too much versus an addict.

I mean really, he is 21 years old and well funded and has made some bad decisions while drinking and partying. That might sum up 50-75% of people the same age or less in college or graduating high school. Is the guy drinking 15 hours a day every day, is he having cocaine for breakfast daily? He is just in the spotlight for more than one reason, so every move he makes goes on the internet.

I'm of the opinion that he just needs to mellow out on some things and get a better idea of when he needs to be serious and when he can let loose and not let those two things overlap. Rehab-Intervention-Addiction-Disease, these are big words to throw at someone, especially when we don't know if they apply or not. Best of luck regardless and props to his people/sponsors for sticking with him.

At Red Bud I was told by someone at YOT who would know that he'd been let go from the team. That's what I reported.

Obviously something has changed since then.

I do also know that it happened while Keith McCarty was on vacation, and heard that he wasn't particularly psyched about having his vacation interrupted.

As far as me not responding, I didn't see it.

Yeah and it turned out you were wrong. And I am sure you do "know" about McCarty's reaction since you and the rest of the media are all so much in the "know" about the JLaw situation.

J Law's the shit and Villopoto is a whiney little bitch that is extremely fast i might add. I think Lawrence adds spice and keeps the racing interesting. I'm looking forward to see him race at X. Should I STFU NOOB myself?

Exactly.....Im willing to bet he parties half as much as most kids his age that are in college.
He's just under the big microscope that they arent.
Doesnt mean he needs rehab......just means he needs to lay lower than he sometimes does.

J*Law still has a job because he is in an outpatient rehab program, along with other classes. . . those were the stipulations.

Post a reply to: J*Law to ride at X*Games for YOT.
