JLAW SIGHTING

i love these threads - you never know what is going to get thrown up - personally i have no feeling either way with him, he did some good, did some bad, whatever, if he races then great, if he doesn't then it's no loss and i am happy to watch those that actually want it and also i am happy to watch these threads develop from both sides of the argument.

those that kick off or complain because somebody "throws it away" (and i use that term lightly) need to learn to drop it - perhaps the guys/girls that throw it away just get pissed off with it all after all those years, have you read some of the hate shit that gets put out on here and other forums and the other media outlets, imagine the amount of shit they must read and hear and most of it from f'ers who don't know jack. They aren't obliged to tell the public/the fans/anybody why they are acting the way they are and unless you are a pro in their position or very close to their position, how can you really have a relevant POV when you only know rumour and conjecture or what is bled out through media.

It's only been 2 seasons since he left the pro scene.
I'd think he still would have some leftovers from his better days?

No doubt the kid had talent but he blew it.

His last success was in 2009, and even then he skipped, did not finish, or just rode around for 10x the races he actually tried. Other than his ride leading Daytona for awhile to finish 2nd and his one podium outdoors at Red Bud the season was a complete waste. Not because he did not have the talent, but because he did not give a shit enough to try.

His only championship was a Lites class regional in 2008. For those of us math challenged that's getting close to 4-5 years ago. In SX/MX that is an eternity.

In 2010 he got into the top ten ONCE. Even then he seemed to care more about screwing around with Dungey more than winning.

In 2011 he had a deal to race and did not bother to show up.

Since then we have had more individual threads on him than the actual local hare scrambles he has raced. Hint: LOCAL HARE SCRAMBLES.

I get it that some people like the “Bad Boy” no matter how moronic that may be, but it’s getting old.

I still think these threads might just be a ploy by some of his buddies to somehow keep him relevant in the MX world. Give up, his time has come and gone.
See Paul you do care...its ok to care... Bro

yeah... nobody cares... RIGHT Blink

regarding "throwing away his talent"... look at Nico Izzi... a bunch of you guys were throwing hate his way until the show aired a couple weeks ago. can anyone imagine the JLaw story? and some of you fuckers act like you know what he has gone through? or how hard he trained during the week to kick Dungey's ass in a regional supercross championship? how about the fact that he is just sick of the scene... sick of assholes. sure he had his problems, but who the hell is anyone on here to judge him for anything when they don't know shit.

it's amazing, love or hate the guy, but at the end of the day people WANT to know what the story is. even the douchebags that claim they don't care. you'll still read it and then go on to post about how you don't give a shit, so shut the fuck up.

and about his money coming in, i read somewhere that he is co-owner (heresay) of a successful skate/bike shop in Jersey. just something i read.

for the idiots saying they don't care, just stay out of the fucking thread next time. no need to go out of your way to let people know how little you care.

A lot of truth in Peelout's post.
J-law's story, even, pouyrcel's, brings something different to our sport.A lot of people (haters included) are waiting for stories like this!
An interview with one of the top guys will never bring the same excitement.

Exactly.
I have spent a handful of days here and there with Jason in 2009-2010 when we were trying to make the Langston / Hamblin / Jlaw team work out for everyone involved. Things didnt go exactly as planned for all of us and our vision although we really gave it out best efforts, (it was a very very tough time to create a new team those years financially) - but I can tell you one thing from my limited time spent with him: Jason is a good dude who just loves riding dirt bikes and having fun. He is alot smarter than most people give him credit for. He is also very loyal to very few people out there and his story would be the most incredible thing that could ever be put on film if it were to ever happen. I, like MANY others would love nothing more than to see a comeback of some sort. Evern though I dont agree with everything he has always done, I am, and will always be a fan.

Peelout I could not have said it better if I sat down for days to think about it. I am a HUGE Dungey fan! Have to be coming from where I grew up racing at. That said, JLAW brought so much flavor to the sport. The kid had an unreal amount of natural talent. But if he dont want to race anymore, its his call. And thats that. You all say he is so stupid. Truth is that he saw this sport for what it truly is and said fuck it and fuck the people in it. I have nothing but respect for someone that is able to walk away like that. Must not of been an easy decision to make. However, I can not say I blame him after things went down the way that they did. He will always be remembered as a bad mother fucker on a dirtbike. And to me that is enough. I am thankful for the times that I did get to watch the kid ride. St Louis 2009 comes to mind...... Never ever have I seen somebody rail a berm so hard!

Any post that mentions Jlaw is worthless. He did have the potential, and was fast, very fast. My son raced in his class a few times when he was on 80's. Last time was at Dublin Gap in '03, Jlaw #1, my boy #5. Then he was a winner, unfortunately, now he is not. He may be remembered for a while as the guy that could have had it all, but pretty soon no one will have ever heard of him. He wasted his talent, and it's too late now in pro mx or sx. He could still make a few bucks at some local tracks paying good purses when the pro's are around, but that's it. It's a sad story for him, but he doesn't seem to care. He could have been there with Dungey, and Barcia, who was just a class behind him. I hope he makes a good living, but it won't be on a bike. Good thing would be if he could hook up with one of the training camps and work for them, teaching the kids how to ride. Could be good.
You're so right, pretty soon no one will have ever heard of him. Just like Lechien, Bradshaw, and other guys like that who nobody remembers anymore, right?

Good grief.

I"m not sure its all about being the "bad boy" . For some of us its because he appears mortal like the rest of us. Maybe a guy that has been through some shit and has some issues. Try and tell us that you don't have any issues yourself and I'll show you a Royal Bullshitter. J-law seems more like a normal dude than most of the big names in the sport. Add the fact that the dude has sick style and speed and he suddenly becomes very relatable, for a small percentage of us I guess. Everybody runs into shit in their lives, how they handle the shit defines them. Its would be an incredible story to see him come back and even land a top 5, would show a ton of maturity and would prove to the world that he's managed to pull it together.

If J-Law made a comeback and rode a two stroke, all of motocross would rejoice! It would possibly "fix our sport"!
