If I were a title contender I couldn't imagine a better teammate to have than Barcia, because of the possible benefits. Aggressive riders from time to time do occasionally take other riders down while passing, which give other riders the opportunity to benefit. Barcia may also be the type of rider that makes other guys nervous when he is behind them, too. The odds of Trey (and some others) picking points from Barcia's riding style are probably slightly higher than having say a rider with a passing style like Ryan Dungey on the team. (edit: sorry to offend some of the Barcia fans. I'm a fan too, but 41 is at the top of my rooting list for 2013).

i have a really good feeling Barcia will be the top dog at Honda by the end of the year.

i know Trey has won races in the past and has shown amazing speed,

but Barcia is definitely the guy with the agression and apparent desire to win at Honda.

(that isn't saying Trey and Reed don't show the same, i just feel Barcia REALLY shows it)

It's not a conspiracy. I was just pointing out Barcia is a very aggressive rider. Remember in 2011 all the carnage between Stewart and Reed that played into Villopoto's favor??? Same type of thing, and yes, it is an unlikely possibility.

A two time Lites SX champ enters the premier class with Team Honda, with a "1" and a "5" on his bike. I've seen this story before, and the ending was good.

I am betting he doesn't win a race, but if he does it will be in the first say 5... and I also bet he doesn't finish the season, blows up with an crash related injury...

But i'll watch, cause it will be exciting till he does.

You must be talking about Canard, because that sure wouldn't fit Barcia's M.O.

Nope... I like watching BamBam ride but I don't think you can ride like that for 16 rounds and get away with it...

I do think he'll go fast but i'm pretty sure he's gonna deck himself...

Trey is getting a bad rep... But really, last year was NOT his fault at all... that could happen to you on the sidelines with a camera in your hand!

Barcia definitely adds an extra element of excitement to an already stacked field. Theres going to be some really fast riders not breaking the top 5 from week to week. It will be very crowded at the front.

Has Barcia ever failed to finish a season due to injury or anything else? This year he won his Lites regional title (again), went on to 2nd in the Nats with a couple of wins, was the top American at MXdN, then won Monster Cup. It just makes no sense to me to paint him as an injury-prone crasher especially after the year he just had.

I'm not painting him as anything... He'll be good, and he'll come out like a scolded cat hence why I think if he gets it done it will be early. I just don't see him finishing the season.

He does ride really really really agro and even if he calms down a bit he still rides harder than most... That might get him on the big bike as it has many other guys the past...

But now that you mention it... Pretty sure he didn't finish his first two outdoor seasons due to injury...

2 that, I had the feeling he was unstable, crasher, just because he goes full throttle, seems a bit sketchy at times, then I realized kid is solid as a rockShocked .

Good for him and us!Cool

I would switch the names around there, then at least it makes a tiny bit of sense. Barcia has a much better chance at being in the title hunt over Trey, silly goose.

Barcia doesn't have the speed to run with Canard....That also goes for Reed and Dungey.
