That is one of the bad things in France, dirt bikes are quite often stolen ... including to the best riders. (i.e. JMB 1991 championship CR...)

I think it was more the killings before that got everyone nervous.

That is why 2 of his friend's bikes were also stolen, 1 KXF and 1 YZF ... so 4 bikes in total. His friends may want to sit out Bercy too, plus most of the time in France dirt bikes cannot be insured (no plates)... so total loss.

It happened to one of my friends too, a mechanic with his private track who was nicely stocking other friend's bikes, and in addition to the loss of his fully modified bike he paid for 2 other bikes... Not something I wish to anyone...

Around 10 bikes in total were stolen at the British GP in the summer, from the trade area and the pits.

Its a big problem in the UK.

Seems to be a common problem in (southern?) France. Factory Husqvarna rider Matti Seistola along with a few other riders got their bikes stolen from the Parc ferme at the French EWC race. That's supposed to be closed and guarded area.

I don't think they apply this kind of rates in the ghetto, more like 500 each... You really have an evil mind to say such a thing, but gotta admit it's pretty weird that it happens now. The area the bike were stolen at isn't the safest one in france though

It is indeed a big problem. But the robbery at the EWC is quite strange. Guys stoled two HVA and Thain's Honda but didn't touch Méo's KTM which was in the way... Maybe they were blind, or just plain stupid.

Well considering this message is probably one of the few I didn't have to read 2 or 3 times in a row in order to understand it, guess you get your answer, lol...

I lived in Oakland, CA for a year and can't help but lol thinking about the "ghetto's" in France. Not saying it isn't safe or there isn't crime but if you know anything about Oakland you would understand.

Sucks to hear about all of the bikes being stolen. FUCK THIEVES !!!!!

Well, i know u picture France as a Woody allen movie, but take a trip to Marseille's northern neighbourhoods, and u'll see something as gnarly as the bronx, and def more dangerous than Brooklyn worst area's for example. I've toured a bunch of american city's, just went through Oakland in the Greyhound bus so i can't say for there, but i honestly felt way safer walking at nightime in any east coast, south or west coast city's than i did when i got back home. Except maybe for downtown Dallas, at 2am that was scary as shit!

I know it's far from the french cliché, but there's some real shitholes round here, believe me. I tend to think it has something to do with the fact that ur gangs are well organised, the guys are here to make fat stacks dealing and shit, not to bother everybody that crosses their path. In france it's not that organised, it's kind of every block against every block, with a bunch of real young fuckheads that don't care bout nothing and don't receive any orders from the area's boss.

So yeah, we do have gnarly getthos, and yeah, i felt way safer in America than in southern France, despite all the MTV played gangstas myth

No, back then my parents built a garage after the first one got stolen; nevermind, they just hammered the concrete walls till there was a big enough hole, then they saw the pole the bike was hooked on...
