It's gotta be OAS for me. Mine is the quintessential story, I walked out of the first screening ever in Santa Monica and I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I immediatly began scheming my pips for a bike. I went the classic route from an MR50 to an XR75, and then a sleeved down Elsie. Moved to OC in 1975 and started going to Saddleback, Escape Country, Indian Dunes, and Carlsbad along with lots of the periphery tracks around No Cal. racing Golden State Series races when they were full on pre-season training grounds for the heros of the day. Magoo on Banzai Hill on a privateer 125, then a Maico then a factory Honda, Baily at Huron Sad , The Massacre at Saddleback, Magoo at the USGP, Tripes at the Superbowl - twice. Wardys last minicycle race at the WMGP then his first pro race on The DeSoto Moto track at Escape Country. I could go on and on. I experianced the halcyon days of early american motocross and am truly grateful. I digress.... I'm not sure if I went to the first Superbowl of MX or saw the movie first, someone can tell me, but they both had huge influences on me.

On any Sunday 1 and 2, Moto3 was epic. Faster and Fastest if you like MotoGP. IMO theres no such thing as a good Hollywood MX movie

Wow, so outa 3 pages of repies, only MXant15 mentioned Moto XXX (thanks buddy). Moto XXX 1 came out right after Crusty 1 and was the 2nd film of its kind to kick start the whole freestyle video craze. It trips me out that no one mentions it. We didnt have the famous Seth crash that Crusty 1 had obviously, but our first video was so killer and still is. Had the best sound track without a doubt. It for sure helped to introduce a lot of punk bands (including my own) into the FMX/MX scene. Anyone happen to remember? Then remember, we started a team that went on to be the most successful privateer team ever and we lasted for 13 years on our own. Gnarly to think about when you hear about so many teams folding and the whole Jeff Ward team, and all the other teams. What im saying is, we fucking kicked ass and did it our way and it all started from our first video MOTO XXX #1. Maybe some of you actually remember? I would like to think so.....FTW!

Moto XXX #1 is epic!
On PulpMX.Com there is a classic commentary on Moto XXX #1 with Matthes and K-Dub. It's a really cool look at the video from Kenny's perspective.

WrathChild, Just wish they would release a DVD for it. The old VHS is getting worn out.

IT's funny I am not big into Freestyle though have total respect for the riders, and don't mind watching free riding vids still, but my Favorite movies have to be the Crusty Series, Crusty 7 is probably my fav out of the lot.

The Crusty Vids really got me wanting to buy a bike (old man sold everything up when I was ten) and at the age of 20-21 I borrowed all the Crusty Vids out at that time from a mate and soon went out and bought a bike, have been riding as much as possible for the past 12 or so years!

Still a slowish C grader but love it, Hit vets in just over 6 months!!!

JC, I saw On the Line at a double feature with Easy Rider. Kind of a desert racer flick if I recall. Thurston , I believe, referred to JN as "A Damn Fool" in the movie.
If you are into it ,while not moto, Joe Kid on a Stingray is a pretty cool movie tracing the roots of BMX.
Double feature? Drive-in? Were you in Tampa then? As a kid in South Tampa I saw On The Line at Britton Plaza.

The only Joe Kid I know is actually Joe KiddAngry , the spaghetti Western dude, but I'll look for the one you refer to.

OAS2...Bob Hannah and King Kenny. Might not be the 2 nicest people on earth, but I worshipped them both.

Anytime I hear Larry Huffman, I get happy.

@ MM338 I've watched that commentary on Pulp MX and while its cool, they call a lot of things wrong. It would be fun to redo my own commentary to it like they did but ya, cool they give it some love on there.

@2Strokerider: Thanks man...glad to hear you're thoughts on our soundtracks and videos, im bias of course but i think the exact same thing!

@thrillbillie91: Deegan and Metz were just being themselves at the time and it was so funny to film that skit. It came out of nowhere and it was just so out there at the time, pretty comical. I dont think neither Deegan or Metzger have any regrets of doing that back then. People loved that section. It got huge laughs when we premiered Moto XXX at the Mammoth MX back in 1996. Good times!
