The guy hauled the mail on a motorcycle. Rode for Mitch's team and also factory Suzuki. I think he left the sport to pursue his faith, and a career in religion. Anyone know what he is doing know, is he still involved in the industry, possibly riding? I’m not sure if I have all the riders correct, or the year for that matter, but it was somewhere in the mid to late 80's....he had a killer battle in the 80 expert class at the old Las Vegas world mini track with a handful other top riders....Antunez, Swink and I think Pederson, Button, and others from that era. It was one of the best races I've ever seen! If anyone has any pictures of Gaddis, could you post those as well? THX!

Thanks for those pic Pat! 1993 was an awesome year for our sport, Jeremy just beginning to dominate the 250's...also, Gaddis won the 125 west. Gaddis was super fast, and I was surprised he gave it up so early.....Guess he had a higher calling.

I have Jimmy's Renthal bars he gave me at the Seattle Supercross his rookie year in the pro class...he wadded it up in practice and signed the bars for me. Found them in my attic over the weekend...

I remember him as one of the original guys to thank God in EVERY opportunity he had on the podium. He was fun to watch and he hauled the mail in AX too. I'd also be curious to know what he's up to and at the very least to know that he's doing well.

...those cone pipes are SOOOO sick by the way. Gary Emig (G.E.R) used to build some works of ART back in the day, and they screamed!!

I thought Gaddis was a product of the fucked up AMA pointing out of the 125 class situation. Had to move up, Mitch didn't have a 250 program and none of the other teams had a 250 spot open. Couldn't defend his number one plate if I remember correctly. Didn't he move on to one of those MTEG gigs like Brooks did for a while? Stadium trucks and bike classes for filler? I may be wrong , but I'll blame it on the near empty bottle of McGrath wine............Smile

He moved to AX and won 4 straight titles, made a good living and retired.

JImmy Gaddis was one bad MOFO. He simply dominated arena cross and when he was on the track with the big boys he seemed to be the fastest on the track. But the way he attacked the track with reckless abandon sometimes cost him sort of like another dude
who dominates supercross now.

Jimmy was one fast mini rider. I used to battle it out with Gaddis on our KX80's almost every weekend here in Phoenix. The last time I saw him race was a few years ago when he tried the Canadian Nationals. It didn't go to well though, think he broke a hand or something that same year in arenacross.

Jimmy is my cousin and is retired obviously, lives in MO helping to run our family's river resort called garrisons river resort. He doing great and is happily married with three kids. Still very religious, and works harder than a lot of people I know.

Tell Jimmy Will Bowden says hello. Remind him of the great memories from his family and their time spent in Texas back in the '80's.

Will Bowden!!!!!! Yes!!!!!!!! I watched TNN sports coverage of Carlsbad Golden State. I think you led but wadded up??? Bad ass man.... me and buddies taped that show and watched it at least 50 times... Gaddis is badass and definitely got screwed by the bogus points system... you know, the system that still costs guys their careers, to this day.

I also watched that race 50 times! Open faced "Willy" was flying up the freeway, high sided, and his leg folded underneath his falling CR80. I still cringe. I didn't know what an ACL was back then but I'd bet $ now that he blew his out.

Chris was a Nor-Cal bad ass that made 125 main and top 20's outdoors as a privateer in the early 90's, but went to South America to race for many years. He was in all the FOX ads in the 80's-'90's and last worked at MDK Speed until they closed. Ask O/C Scottie for more info, as they were BFF's.

That's the only thing that I can live by in the MX world. Now just an avid fan like most of us. Funny thing... my dad was dissappointed with my first moto and told me I better go out and win or break my leg. He regrets to this day but, we still laugh about it.

I broke my tib/fib... no ligament damage. The best part about it, my dad put me on a plane back to Texas so I didn't have that 20+ hour drive in a cast.

The best part of the accident, if you can call it that was, Jim, Anita & Jimmy Button came to the hospital with George Holland. George gave me one of his Hondaline #3 jerseys. Meant a lot to me for sure.

I always wondered what happened to you, I was behind you and came pretty close to going down with you 4th gear WFO. I just remember it scared the hell out of me.
