I can't argue that to US riders a SX title is the most important. Any fan would tell you the outdoor champ is the man though
The guy that can win races and championships in MX AND SX is the man.

On the RV vs RD thing I think they are right on par with eachother. Some days RV is better and some days RD is better. I do think RV has a little more speed at times or he is just more willing to ride on the edge and RD has a lot more consistency. It seems like the dunge is always in the hunt. And yea take away boiling gas and a few mechanicals and one of RV's titles would be dungeys.........

I like RV and Bambam better though. Its always funner to watch a guy that hangs it out. Haha man I was hoping for some fireworks between alessi and barcia last night. I think they both know that each of them will punt the other one so they just left it alone lol

I agree with your speed comment, but the whole, take away a mechanical thing and the title is Dunge's is bullshit...

The riders all ride to the situation as well... You better believe that if RV needed to come up with a few more performances like at Steel City where he gets it done he would have.

He has a record of doing it when he has too.. There was another RedHead that did the same...

That's half the reason Reed fans were so busted over 2006... Bubba and RC were on another level that year, Reedy did not adapt to that blue 4 stroke pig at all, but if you take the points away then let them race you gotta keep going, Reedy basically let RC go past at Atlanta without a fight, thinking he had a 21 point cushion, turns out he had a 5 point swing.

You should have started this one out with "derp", too. RD had RV covered outdoors last year, but ran out of gas (while walking away from RV and the field in Texas). If that's not "stepping up", then I don't know what is. You RV nut hugging dipshits have short term memory.

I've been saying Barcia is going to be a title threat this year in SX since before outdoors was over. His style lends itself to SX, and even though he often looks like he's riding on the edge, he's VERY consistent indoors. His starts are some of the best in the game (w/ the exception of Alessi) and he is tenacious. If you don't think that he's in every one of the "big 4" 's heads, you're nuts.
By that logic, is Pourcel the worthy 2009 250 National Champion?

.... I didn't think so.

The dungey gas boiling thing just sticks out in my head because I was there that day and he was just on a different level. Then out of nowhere he just stopped. Was just crazy and such a freak thing. But yea I'm not taking anything away from RV. He beat Dungey straight up plenty of times that summer and also never ran out of gas lol

This is an interesting visual image... the last 10 years (outdoor) champs at a glance.

He will have to put 16 races together and his style will not allow him to do that. He will implode in a race or two minimum. I just hope he stays healthy.

You make way to much sense for this place.

I had a tendency to believe this a couple of years ago, but watching him in SX the past two years, I have to disagree. He rides on the edge, but he is somehow incredibly successful (ie. consistent) doing so. Outdoors will be different, but I would be slightly surprised to see him implode this year (in SX)

Keep in mind. Last nights track was not typical supercross track.

It was a WTFO assholes and elbows type of track.

Food for Thought...

His "New" 450 is "Dynamically" a 250F with a Turbo-Diesel.
His "New" 450 is Nowhere NEAR fully developed...for him.
His "New" 450 is not really "His", yet.

He's not truly a 450 rider, yet.
He attacks the other-riders like Langston would do...when necessary.
He's not affraid...of a damn thing. Certainly not affraid of "The Competition".
He seems to still be learning how effective his "250" lines and technique can be on a 450..."This 450"...this VERY LIGHT and easy to ride...450.
I watched him "Dial it Back" and RE-ATTACK in 2 of the Motos, last-nite...like I've NEVER seen him do, before...EVER.

Some folks would imply that he has "No Respect" for the other-riders...

I'd simply state that he has this "F all of those guys, I'm gonna beat them all !" mentallity.

No Quarter Given, Non Taken.

I'm a fan of RV too, but I don't worship him. I'm also an RD, JS7, Reed, etc. etc. fan. But I'm not trying to say one of them is "on another level" every time I talk about him. It's shows your lack of knowledge of the sport.

CR22 vs. JS7 vs. RD5 vs. TC41 vs. RV2 and now JB51

On any given night, anyone of these riders can win. This is best racing since the mid 1980s and someone of you cannot enjoy it. Have your favorite rider and enjoy the race.

Hard to speculate yet, but Wilson could very much be a part of that pack as well, which is nuts

"But Wilson hasn't even won an SX Lites title"

Yeah, but he had to speed to do so. And he could potentially find SX easier on a 450

What are the stats on Barcia vs. Dungey in 450 events? Seems like every time, except once, that Barcia raced a 450 he finished ahead of Dungey. I like Dungey but think Barcia is going to get in everyone's head except RV. RV is a rare breed that will dig deep. His problem this weekend will do nothing but make him work harder! Everyone had a good showing, but Dungey has to be the one kinda thinking, Damn Barcia beat me again already. 3rd moto was straight up! Tomac was just some salt in the wound. It doesn't matter, RV is on point. I think he is champ unless hurt until Tomac is 450 fulltime. RV is my guy but I think Tomac (like rv) has that little something extra. Supercross is looking good for years and years!!!!! I don't give a shit what any of you say, Supercross is the most prestigious motorcycle series, period.

Mreh... Dirt or Road i'd take a SX title... Sure millions wouldn't but even the road race guys all say SX is cool/gnarly etc... There isn't a sport on earth that challenges people as much as SX...

TeamGreen gets it. JB is one of the rare guys that is going to be better on the big bikes than he was on the 250's. He is going to make it a lot of fun to watch next year!

You are really off on this one, Barcia raced the last 8 450 motos of 2011, Dungey beat Barcia 7 out of 8 times. The only time Barcia beat Dungey the was 2nd moto at Southwick when Dungeys bike wouldn't start and he entered the race 3/4 of a lap down to the entire field. For what it is worth, Dungey passed Barcia 3 of the 7 motos he finished in front of Barcia, Barcia never passed Dungey.

Post a reply to: Barcia = title threat
