Cool new wheelchair concept

I always thought there had to be a better way to propel a wheelchair that wouldn't hurt your hands and wrists as much. Pushing the wheels along directly isn't very ergonomic.

I think the handle has a quick release so it drops low enough to get under the seat so it's out of the way.

Great idea though.

Great concept for sure. But $5000 seems a little steep, or am I wrong? What do you think Scottie?

I agree. But, with the right attitude towards adversity and will power there are a ton of activities! My cousin is paralyzed from the waist down and recently a few customers of mine. Mad respect for the things they can do that I would not imagine being able to do!

Sorry to hear about your cousin. I 100% agree with you. Life isn't over, and depending on injury there are still many viable options to get that racing fix. RC racing to list one. My brother is deep into the sport, and surprisingly it's a blast and can still get your adrenaline pumping.

So it's like a Segway, but a quad version? That looks pretty cool and should help a lot of people and I pray to never need one. But $5K? How much are HoverRounds? HoverRounds look like they have a lot more features, cupholders and all kinds of stuff. Also, anyone else imagining it with knobbies on those wheels, or am I the only one? Someone photoshop that shit and put some MX51s on it.

$5K Isn't that bad. There's manual chairs out there that are more expensive. A full power chair can run $10k plus. Hell my Rugby wheelchair cost $5k! Nothing cheap in the gimp life

I'm looking at new chairs right now and they're around £4,000 UK upwards for something decent so $5 US isn't quite so bad,a little steep but as Rdracer says,nothing's cheap in our life,quite the opposite in fact Sad

I have E-motion power assist wheels and they do wonders especially at the tracks. They costed 7k each wheel and another 7k for the wheelchair frame, thank god for insurance! But heres a new concept I came across recently, maybe you or your family/friends might be interested in this assist add on. I like it because its easily removable and can be added on to a lot of chairs.. My assisted wheels have the battery and sensors built into each wheel so its always there, sometimes I don't need them

But that video you posted. That thing is genius!
