so my old Moto brothers ... I have a question for you.

How old is your bike? And do you think a NEW bike would make you go any quicker?

My bike is 5 year old YZ450F and its my right wrist that limits my speed so..... I do not think a 2013 would make my any quicker

But I must say that 2013 CRF sure does look sweet!
My 2006 450 is good enough to win +50 expert on. Problem is, I'm not.

I think a new bike would definitely make you quicker but it all depends on the bike & your level of commitment to going faster. I've had the new KTM for 4 wks now & I've definitely noticed that I've been going faster on it & so has everyone else :-) I love this bike & it is so easy to go fast on. It is way more stable in the really rough stuff than my RM or any of my RMs were & that fact alone allows me at my advanced AARP age to charge just a bit harder down a rough straight & drive harder into the turns now.

I'm 54...and although I sure wouldn't say I'm a fast racer any more, I'm still a pretty quick RIDER for my age. Injuries from the past tend to come back to haunt me at this age, and I sure am more conservative than I used to be. I messed with vintage racing awhile, restoring a '74 Husky Mag 250 and (almost) a '73 Penton 125 before getting tired of getting beat up by the lack of suspension travel...which wasn't such a big deal as a youngster as I remember. Nowadays I grunt around on a Honda 450 I bought last year and spend time riding with friends and scaring the crap out of myself on the occasional double or (small) triple jump at my local tracks and riding areas.

Still have a blast...
