I think over both sides of the pond there are top quality riders. But the AMA riders are used to a series which doesnt have much variation in track terrain / prep. It's not just Lommel where USA would get beat, Leirop prob would have been even harder for them, Valkensvaard, possibly even Kagums too.

Maybe next time the team USA should try to fit in a G.P. This year they could have rode Leirop for example. Might help you prepare ?

I agree with this, I mean the titles were already won. I would have liked to see Baggett vs Herlings and Dungey vs Cairoli when it is an individual event and if nothing else it would give them more seat time and better preparation on different soil.

Nah, it happens. Especially on a track they've never raced on and that Cairoli uses as his personal training ground. Did you country make the podium today?

when did Dungey get lapped? Did I miss something? And the only reason Barcia got lapped is because of the issue he had on the next to last lap.

YOu know whats even funnier, as bad as we rode today, we still had a chance to win. Imagine that, even with however many crashes and a mechanical we still almost won on a track where our guys rode mediocre at best.

fair comment to be honest i dont think they rode that bad barcia in the last race was really good but looked like he just needed to relax more (easier said than done mind) i think all in all they needed was more time in deeeeep sand to get truly prepared for this race not a week

Dungey in third moto crash trying to run with Cairoli!
Maybe Barcias pass made this mess? He nearly took RD out and in slowmotion you can see that RD had too shut off the throttle. And that is not the best thing to do on Lommel as you can see.Wink

That's what I said earlier. Not the best move to chop your throttle on that track, if that's what happened. I dont know how close Barcia came to him, I figured Dunge was checking up to let him by

For Herlings to taunt the American, its not like he taunted everyone, is disrespectful and shows just how much everyone else views us. Booing in the crowd, taunting, crossing over on riders, possibly taking riders out (i heard that may have been the case with Baggett). Its okay, we'll get em next year, and probably the next 7 more.
Really, excuses? Herlings rode a much faster pace and wrecked zero times. Thanks for making the USA fans look lame.
