An ex-Kawi pro mechanic told me to use Rotella. He said that's what they used.

I use Motul 300 in my 450. When I rode two strokes I used Motul 800 in the engine and Bel Ray gear saver in the transmission.

I use Motul because it is affordable and good quality. I used to find the Bel Ray gear saver resulted in smoother shifting.

If I have been using Rotella for years with no issues...would you consider it a good oil?

Or is there a different criteria to finding a preferable oil?

Good thing the engine is your truck is a low technology, high tolerance engine which could run on vegetable oil..

Rotella is a good tranny oil. I use it in all my gear boxes.

I run Mobil 1 15w50 on the engine side of the CRF's.

Lucas 2-stroke oil has proven itself in my smokers.

Obviously, I don't run expensive boutique oils.

Motul everything for me (Engine, transmission, suspension, coolant, carb cleaner...) because one of my coworker is sponsored so I add on to his order.
But hey, I wear a Motul t-shirt every now and then, so it is all good.

Motorex crosspower or topspeed. Plus I use all there other products for different things.

Klotz Super Techniplate in my RM125. I wish someone made the smell into a cologne.

I used Mobil 1 sportbike oil and also bashed everyone on Thumpertalk using Rotella. Until I realized how many of my expert/pro friends have been using it without issues for years.
