Leatt Brace Issue

After using my Brace about 15 times or so,and not testing it in a crash,Smile I had a small issue.The clip that holds the brace shut,bent and then finally broke.I just taped that side shut and opened it on the other side for a ride or 2.I don't have a bike presently so I thought I'd check in and see if I can get it fixed.I e-mailed Scott at Leatt and 4 days later my new (free) pins arrived in the mail.Great company that stands behind their product. Thanks.

nice thx for sharin that. Mine did the exact same thing, but, I never got around to doing anything about it. It didn't seem to really affect the tightness of the latch on mine though. But Im gonna see if I can get mine replaced.

ive been running mine the exact same way for about 4 months now. probably not the smartest thing on my part, but it seems to hold up fine.

I noticed my clip on the one side I always open has loosened up a bit. I'm waiting for it to break. Oh, I did test mine out. Worked pretty damn good, I must say.

You have to check the clips/pivot all the time, things get loose and come apart. Leatt is really good about taking care of issues.

I love the mentality in this thread already

#1 Spend hundreds of dollars on a brace that could possibly reduce the risk of death/paralyzation

#2 When said brace has something break on it... don't replace it... thus potentially reducing the effectiveness of said brace in the event something happens

Why spend the money on it if you're not going to keep it in working order... especially when replacement parts are free?

For fucks sake people... some real einstein's around here...

My daughter has had hers for nearly a year. Wears it three times a week at the track. She has had a few gnarly gets off and it has worked as they said it would. We wash it once a week to remove all dirt and have never had a problem.

I have talked with others at the track that have stated that Leatt has replaced or fixed their unit and the Scott was great to deal with. If your Leatt breaks, get it fixed before doing any serious MX'ing. A broke neck could ruin your day. As for extra "explicitive" used above... it that really necessary???

Great company I highly recommend buying the leatt over anything else just because the customer service is second to none. I've broke a few pieces and they were all replaced with no charge and larger updated pieces given out no charge also. I highly doubt alpinestars or evs will even come close to comparing to the service of leatt. Not to mention the brace has now become an irreplaceable piece of my riding gear just as a helmet now for me, I just refuse to ride without it.

You know a friend of mine got cross-rutted landing from maybe a 12' long 3' tall double jump and landed on his shoulder. He now has a broken neck vertebrae and upper back vertebrae, and a broken clavicle. All this from a little fall on his shoulder.

I believe the Leatt braced caused all this unneccessary damage.

I'm the same guy that says you're a fucking idiot if you don't maintain your bike and then get hurt because some vital part breaks when you're racing causing injury due to not being maintained.

It's a VITAL peice of equipment that could save your life... why not maintain it? To not maintain something that important is like saying "I know I could fix my shit FOR FREE, and have stuff mailed to me, but I'm LAZY and won't"

It's idiotic to say the LEAST.

The replacement clips I received for mine were upgraded from the original's, they did improve the design.

i never said i emailed them because somthing broke and i couldnt fix it

i never even said anything about maintaining it
