I just saw on Mike McDades Twitter account that he is running a 450 at Elsinore using a Dr. D pipe???? I am under the assumption after reading this that him and Eleven10 split......when was this?

doubt they split, I think that there was an issue getting his bike out there in time or something. Most likely he's riding a borrwoed bike and parts

Talked to Mike earlier, they didn't split. But this is kinda messed up....

Eleven10 didn't ship his bike. Ignored his texts until Wednesday after he flew out there, just to tell him. hey we're not shipping you're bike.

Gave him the run around, yada yada, "limited resources not everyone is going......blah blah." yeah that's fine. But now the whole team showed up, except the box truck (understandable) but to overnight a bike (Martins, and some other Kawasaki) to Elsinore, that's pretty expensive. Martin's yeah...for sure ship it.

And to overnight a Kawasaki that didn't qualify last week at Steel City over McDade's bike.....That's wack. Seriously?

Another weekend for Mike though! Kid gets out there in shitty B practice, on an unknown, un set up bike. Yet somehow still finds a way to qualify. Imagine what he could do if he had a set-up bike and got some continuity on the same bike the entire season.

The kid borrows more bikes and rail the piss around any track, clapped out or not. Evidently at the pro level you can't win on clapped out or borrowed equipment.

Of course there's two sides to every story! But I want to know why that kawi got shipped out...

Luckily he found a 2011 stock crf 450 to ride. Dr. D gave him a pipe and I think ENZO was going to do his suspension......hope he does well given the circumstances.

What a kick in the nuts for Mcdade. From the outside looking in that team seems like a mess this year. The racer x article really shed some light on how crazy shit gets for them trying to get to the races. I'm not knocking their effort, just seems like to much drama, whether that be bike problems, riders leaving or just getting to the races. Would be great to see them get some help, maybe stabilize things a bit

It sure seems like they would get some backing, they have proven they can build some great race bikes.

I would love to see Mcdade kill it this weekend. I know he can do it if the bike is half way decent.

Hey GP,

There is 2 sides to every story... Keep in mind the fact that the $$$ is VERY limited and the whole team is NOT out here for Alex. Just his mechanic came out and he is pitting out of a friends trailer for the weekend. The kawi that was shipped is a team sponsor who was out east and split the air freight bill so Alex's bike could be make it out. Times are not easy and I find it crazy that a team that offered to help Mike when no one else would is now the bad guy. FYI they had a 450 lined up for him to use at elsinore and he found his own gig.

Either way it's seems eleven 10 had a pretty tough year with the mechanicals and money issues and so on.

Yes there are 2 sides to every story as I said. And even of they are out for Martin, that's fine. The results definitely warrant it thus far.

Another thing I want to know is why was there no communication with mike all week? If he woulda known he needed support to get his bike shipped I know alot of his friends, myself included, that woulda bent over backwards monday and pulled the cash together to get him the bike shipped.

I'm not baggin on the team. It's tough at that level, nobody is doubting that.

Wish I knew more behind the scenes and why Nicoletti decided leave when he's killin it in the 450s lately. But that's more 2 sided stories.

hmmmm drama follows that team around like a ball and chain.

So shitty for mike, i hope he kills it and gets a good ride, he was battling with barcia a few year ago at mini o's all week.

Im gonna bite my tounge on what i really thinks going on but i can only assume that theres a reason that sanners name gets drug through the mud and coals so much.

GP,

More to the story and everyone has there opinion. As for the Nicoletti deal, Phil and the team are on good terms each just went different directions. Phil does not slam the team as he knows the situation and reasons he even stopped by the shop before steel city and talked to the guys. The team was pumped Phil did great and showed his speed on a 450!

HRD,

Why don' you start your own team? Have Mike ride for you! Funny how things always happen to to be the fault of everyone else. Things are SOOOO bad that Alex Martin is staying for a 3rd year in a row of abuse even as he has offers on the table! Wink No doubt Mike has talent but at the same time do you have ANY idea what it costs to build a race bike and what the costs are to rebuild it every weekend? Go ahead and "bite your tongue on what you really THINKS going on" as there is MUCH more to the story.

Bummer for Mike that he couldn't get his bike over there. But as far as Eleven-10 mods go.....they seem like a great little team that puts in a lot of effort , time and money to support the few riders they have. I don't see why this even debatable......as I'm sure money is tight.....just like all the teams. And as far as the bikes go......sheeesh , them bastards look like they pull like a raped ape!

I'd be interested to hear what happened with the communication. Seems like letting your rider know that he needs to find a way to get his bike to the race wouldn't slip a team's mind. Not bashing, just inquiring. I have made it a point to watch where he ends up since his Southwick move.

Are there any open factory or factory supported rides ? Is he a logical prospect for any of them? A guy who is fast enough to qualify on a dummied down 450 could surely be a good pickup.

I'm that Kawasaki that didn't qualify. We shipped mine and Alex's bikes on my FedEx account (I get an insanely good discount through FedEx) and me and chad split the costs. Without that I don't think Alex would have even made it to California as it was too expensive to drive out and back in the box van. Since it was my account and me splitting costs i feel it was fair that my bike go over McDade's. There is way more to the story than that though, which stemmed from a few weeks back. I sat quietly watching everything and it didn't seem to me McDade was appreciative of the help chad gave him. There were other issues that chad really shouldn't have been having to deal with, like McDade demanding his personal sponsors logo on the shrouds (if they would have sponsored the team that would have been okay). I don't think that would fly at any other team either. That was just one for example and I don't want to bad mouth anyone because it didn't concern me other than getting my bike back home, so i will leave it at that.

Three sides.

Chad Sanner contacted me about a Honda 450 during his search so your they had a 450 lined up for him to use at elsinore and he found his own gig isn't accurate. . Shane Shipley contacted me the Wednesday before the last National and said Chad updated him there had been a last minute change of plans about getting McDade's bike to Lake Elsinore.

I. found a 2010 YZ450F with Ohilins suspension that would have worked for McDade. Bike was well maintained but had 85 hours on top end. I contacted Yamaha at the 11th hour (that's when I was contacted) about getitng s fresh top end but nothing came together. Bike was ridden my a fast local pro that was heavier than McDade but not as fast. I think the 3600 dollar aftermarket suspension would have been killer on the YZ450F and I was pumped when I heard the pieces were falling into place.

Next thing I know I hear McDade elected to ride Vicki Golden's undersprung 450 Honda and he got pogoed off off the track during his race. The upside for me was I got to know Shane Shipley better but the downside was I wasted about three to four hours putting together a deal that was passed on.....choice was a tired 450 or a girls bike........and the girls bike got picked.

Guess the good news was the mechanic didn't have to do much on the 450 Honda.

So there are a couple of problems here:

1. 11/10 tries to do what it can on a shoestring budget and pisses people off when they can't do it all.
2. Another rider offers to split the cost of getting a bike to the race, which is good for both riders, and 11/10 gets shit for not bumping out the rider who made getting one rider's bike there possible.
3. The rider that wanted to have his bike shipped and offered to split costs is told that he should have left his bike sit, paid for someone else's bike, and now he feels as if he has to justify his decision. He doesn't.

Where did this entitlement mentality come from?

Just curious what the tensions are like at eleven ten mods between McDade and the rest of the team. Will he be back at eleven ten or is he looking for another ride? I think rehashing any Elsinore drama won't be productive. What has happened has happened. Learn from it and move on.

Unknown if there are tensions (if any) at eleven10mods. I do know Sanner's a professional as are all involved.

Nothing to see here folks.....just move a long and have a nice day.

I'm waiting to read if McDade will be back to defend his AX title or not? If I was him I'd be milking that number one plate for all its worth then parlay it into an outdoor ride. I'd take a sure thing AX ride with the number one plate over a SX deal but that's just me.
