250A & 450A racer Jake Baumert and I are moving out to Southern California for the winter. I have come to the conclusion that out of the 4 tracks, Perris, Milestone, Lake Elsinore and Lucas Oil Mx that the 4 closest cities on average to these tracks are Lake Elsinore, Corona, Moreno Valley and Riverside. However I have been given advice from several people that work in the industry and live in these areas above, that if we are moving out to California that Irvine is the place to be.
So my question is Irvine vs Lake Elsinore, Corona, Moreno Valley, Riverside.
On average Irvine is roughly 25 miles farther away. Is that extra commute worth it? [We would take the 261 to 241 toll road to get to the tracks]
Let's here the good and the bad.

Lake Elsinore is kinda scummy
Corona is decent depending on the area
Moreno Valley is pretty ghetto......we call it the new compton
Riverside is decent, i personally live there...i live in a section called Canyon Crest which is alot nicer . some parts of riverside are rough
Temecula is pretty cool, same with Murrieta/Menifee/Norco
im about to move to a place called Canyon Lake, its a little upper end, but really really nice
If you do choose to live in the Inland Empire. You will need the following
1. flat bill hat

3. lifted truck (the harder to load your bike in the better)

Furthermore keep in mind we would not be commuting to the tracks during rush hour. So the extra 25 miles wouldn't take that long, but i agree it would be hell during rush hour...
anyhoo, here is a breakdown of the areas.. good and negative
Irvine- Pretentious dickheads/ asshole heaven...(super sluts/moto hoes)..But other than that, pretty expensive but has some really nice areas.
Lake Elsinore- Pretty cool spot has good places and some very very bad places (meth capital, i believe lol)...(super bro-hoes, you know the type metal mulisha all day)
Corona- Nicest spot you have listed out off all of them.. But it has some bad areas too. (Moto Hoes... with class) (moderately priced)
Moreno Valley- Dump, do not move there (price range cheap)
Riverside- has some really nice areas and some ultra shitty ones... research where your moving too.
In your range your mentioning... I would recommend Fontana.. aka Fontucky.

By your Irvine comment I think you meant "Successful people/I envy each of them...(women that won't talk to me so I call them sluts and moto hoes even though there isn't a single moto hoe within a 15 mile radius..."

I think you meant " Industrial wasteland and closest thing to scorched earth/terrible food/pissed off people/ 91 Hwy..."
The only thing fun to do in Corona is to watch it fade away in your rearview mirror on the way to Irvine!
I would recommend Rancho Cucamnga.
On a serious note, what kind of "successful" people are we talking here? Computer Geniuses, or Billy Mays 3 easy payment of 19.99 commercial success?
And if you're bikes aren't going to get jacked, that's a bonus. Why not go there?

If I was serious about racing MX, I couldn't see me living any more than 30 minutes away from a track.
I would probably live across the street from starwest (lucas oil). There is a house/condo complex right there for cheap and I have heard of people just riding straight to the track instead of packing up in a truck. Its only 15 minutes from milestone and maybe 30 to racetown/ comp edge.
Like someone else said, Menifee, Murrieta, Temecula are nice and real close to tracks.
All these places are hot and miserable in the summer, but you don't need to worry about that since you are moving there just for the winter.
This one ^ is spot on.
Not to mention tons of mx shops, companies and riders live and work and are based there.
You will run into these people at restraunts, gas stations, grocery stores every day.
Lots of these guys have private tracks too and can get you "in" possibly.
They all train down there too.
Irvine- nice, but too far
Beach - too far, little moto
Lucas Oil track will have a sx track.
Elsinore will have a sx track.
Perris is close
Pala should have a sx track
Temecula, Murrieta, Menifee is where you need to be.
I was thinking Temecula area as well so nothing is out of the question at this point. Another thing that is on my mind is access to good cycling paths leaving the house as well. Like a Santa Ana River Trail etc...
if you're going out there to ride..id find the closet, cheapest place possible to the tracks.
the inland empire is kind of a dump but hey..i'd take the IE over anywhere on the east coast..lol
