KTM Signs Musquin and Roczen To Two-Year Contracts

Murrieta, CA – KTM Motorsports is excited to announce it has resigned both former MX2 World Champions Marvin Musquin and Ken Roczen to a two-year contract with the Red Bull/KTM Factory Racing Team.

This news is announced just as Musquin, a two-time MX2 World Champion, achieved the highlight of his U.S. racing career with the overall win in the 250 Motocross class at Unadilla Raceway. His teammate, Ken Roczen, also earned a career first after taking a 250 Motocross class win in the first moto at Unadilla.

“We’ve seen Marvin and Ken each have success in both the Supercross Lites and 250 Motocross class,” remarked Red Bull/KTM Factory Team Manager Roger DeCoster. “We have also seen both riders make tremendous progress in the past year and the team is extremely excited to continue working with both riders. We are very confident that with our ongoing support Marvin and Ken will have their share of success over the next two years. The goal is to be in the championship hunt in both the SX Lites and 250 MX series and ultimately work toward garnering U.S. title wins for both riders.”

Cool news, I think they all felt the team had a good spirit going on and wanted to keep it that way?

Such a strong team of fast, young riders. I have really become a fan of Mushy this season. Tomac is my favorite in the 250 class but I wouldnt mind seeing MM take the title next year.

I bet KTM will work just as hard improving the 250 as they did with the 450 for Dungey. This seems like a very smart move, and I`m happy for the both of them Smile
I wouldn`t be surprised to see KTM being the leading team in both classes by the end of these next two years, just like they controll the GP`s now

What a good team. It is nice to see all 3 (w/RD5) staying together. It must be nice for DeCoster to have three fast riders that are popular, get along and represent the sport well. Imagine how envious other team managers must be that have "difficult personalities" on their team and draw negative attention...

If they resigned Short to ride a 450 they could very well achieve World peace.

They already have a new engine for the 2013 models. Herlings and the other GP riders are already using it. Aren't Roczen and Musquin allowed to ride the 2013 stuff yet?

LOL!

They would be allowed to use it, but it's a bit risky switching to a new motor mid-season.

Wouldn`t it have to be available to the public (400 or more) for them to use it?

Yeah i hear ya.

Herlings switched multiple times between the old and new engines this season, because his starts weren't there with the new engine. It's said to be way more powerfull and lighter though.

Great attitudes and each is a legitimate threat in their classes. Roczen and Marvin should def be that much stronger next year, having hit the entire circuit and the National's "sprint" mentality won't come as a shock anymore. They have the ultimate role model, Dungey, if they want to see a successful program at work. Anyone know if they all practice together or do their own thing?

Good news for both those guys! Glad to see them stay on the orange bikes and under Roger. Have definitely become an even bigger fan of these two guys since they joined this series.
