It's clear the guy is a compulsive liar. I'm sure he's a nice enough guy, but if I had to guess these little stories ruin just about every relationship he has.
Some people just can't help themselves can they.. Shame really, the dude obviously has some serious underlining issues going here, to spend this much time on a lie. Just think what the douche could accomplish if he put his mind to something actually real lol

Well i hope this turns out it is true, The things Jeremy has said kinda add up. but what a mental patient if he's completly fabricated all this??? like really besides annoying people what is there to gain??? i hope things are just behind for him and this game reaches us.
This is nothing compared to some of the shit that happened in the Zone years ago, one guy "Crime Boss" would buy domain names and host websites to try and make teams and people look bad.

At this point, I'd just like some closure on the topic. Either there is a game, or there isn't. I'm assuming there is not, but, I've still got just enough hope that I keep coming back to see if there is a PR or even another response from the guy.

Triton- I'm completely ignorant to the legality and the logistics of you being able to take what you've helped develop to market, but, is that even a possibility, given the right backing, etc.? I'm guessing that all of your work is property of THQ at this point, so you'd be starting over again. Is that correct? Is that something you would consider doing, given the right situation? Do you have a brother that works for a company that wants to sponsor a game?

well jeremy if you happen to come back here again and read this, thumbs up if your telling the truth ( i would happily pay £100 for a good mx game) if not then i hope you stump your toes on your bed every day for the rest of your life. oh and your micro scooter gets stolen!!!
you could pay $42 usd for mxsim and be plenty happy.

Hey Triton, what's up? You're obviously someone in the know, out of curiosity how much money would it take to make a top quality MX game for all platforms, featuring real tracks, riders, bikes and gear? Say X amount of money would get the job done, everyone paid, everyone happy??

I'm thinking it would be a 7 figure sum, can't be far off can I??
Minimum 15 million to get something decent with an established engine. Starting from scratch with internal engine or licensed engine would bump to 20 million. That's full slate AAA with all the bells and whistles. Anything less and you won't break 100,000 copies. That includes top talent, marketing and licensing.

Side note. There is no middleware engine that can handle mx. I've tested all of them. Visually yes, physics not a chance. You could but it won't be right. We had evaluated each one with every game to make sure. So even of you started with crytek or unreal you still have to do the physics. And for those that don't know if you use that stuff there is still tons of work and code to be written.

Triton....I totally trust every word you say on the economics of what it would take as you have been there. But I do wonder how Josh with MXS has been able to get the physics on what HAS to be a much cheaper budget. And, again, I'm not the biggest MXS fan but I do credit him for doing a lot right. But how is that possible on one person's budget. or is it because it is for PC not consoles? I know you know the answer. I'm just curious and seeking information.

EA's Supercross 2000 on N64 (which did almost everything right design wise) and Reflex are still the best to me. I would put Alive ahead of Reflex but the tracks just are no good other than the JS7 Compound, in my opinion. I would give about any dollar amount for the unreleased SX tracks for Alive, providing they were better than the 2 released which were prettydisappointing.

I would dig my Alive game out of the trash if I could buy some new tracks for it.

why not drop the costs with a small dev co. and small publisher? I think 15 mill could get something decent with a good game engine and a good talent, small dev. co, but they better sell more than 300,000 copies or they arent even gonna make money.

Thus we have no good games coming out any time soon.

How many copies of Alive were sold, just curious?

Because he's one man and created everything from scratch. The majority of expense in a video game comes from paying employees' salaries. Then tack on marketing, licensing, etc. He's just talented enough to where he's able to do everything on his own, and even then, it's taken 4 or 5 years for it to come to the point it's at now.

I think he should be very proud of what he has done. I won't take anything away from that. It's solid but it's also very specific and his dedication has come to the physics side. Visually it's lacking, some basic gameplay mechanics don't exist. This is not in any way shape or form a slam. It is just a one man band an incredible one at that. There is nothing mainstream about his game though and I'd be surprised if he's even hit 50,000 copies. But as far as I can tell the game is right where he wants it.

The other question about small team small dev. You could come in cheaper but you'd also have an uphill battle unless you had top tier talent. You'd need 1 guy that can cover 3-4 regular guys. It is very rare for an indie dev to break out. It does happen but it's next to impossible.

As for Alive sales I have no idea. They cut the cord a long time ago but I know that publicly the franchise had done 11million+ and that's public info. I also know that know MVA titles have ever done less than a million.

So completely high jacked this thread but nothing else to talk about.

lol oh right, that's quite a lot huh..!! And for it to sell you need it to appeal to a lot people, i.e. making it "arcadey" which would piss off the hardcore MX fans like me straight away.. So therefore the "perfect" MX game has about as much chance of coming out as I do of winning a huge amount of money and funding it myself. Time to start spending more on lotto tickets again me thinks..

Thanks for taking the time to reply though dude, appreciate it.

So who is publishing this fantasy game?

Toyota got into the businesss of publishing video games...since when? What is the name of the studio, and where is the website? Even if you are under contract, you can still promote your studio. Look at www.crydev.com. These people work for free, and they do some amazing work. If you play PC games, make sure you search Pirates, Vikings, Knights. They're a mod team that have dedicated themselves to creating a fun game, based on the source engine.

When it comes to other game engines, there have been mod studios that have earned their right to make triple A games. This guy is, and always has been, full of shit.

I've met a few pathological liars in my day, but it's pretty sad you have all fallen for it . This is something that could have been debunked easily. The only thing you need is a bit of knowledge about game development.

i can vouch for some of the supercross tracks that weren't released. Triton was dead right, they were awesome. it's too bad THQ took the game in the direction they did, the Stewart compound was proof of the Rainbow guys' ability. the rest of the game was proof of the boss saying "Nay"

that said, i didn't download the two supercross tracks that were released as i didn't have internet at the time.

regarding any future MX games, i think a small dev will be the only way it will happen... look at Trials HD and Evolution for the Xbox, those games are amazing and from a small dedicated team. i would like to see those guys release an actual mx racing game, i think they could pull it off. probably be more towards the arcade style, but that isn't always so bad.

here's a video from Evolution... again, not a perfect moto fix, but the VAST amounts of user created content alone makes the game among the best in my opinion. my problem is i don't have the internet at home, so getting content is a pain in the ass.

Guys, I apologize for this thread wasting everyone's time. I have been duped as well, it seems. Everything he said must have been nothing but a fabrication. Now he has disappeared. I was just so hopeful and wanted to ask if others had heard of it. That was the point of this thread.

I am so disappointed. And rather mad as well. No, I AM mad.

Why is it so damn hard for us to get a real AMA SX/MX game?

I'm actually on vacation. Lol. When I get back I'll try to layout a realistic look on what it takes to make a moto game or any game for that matter. I'll start a new thread. Probably Monday.

Good. Someone we all can trust. Thanks, Triton. I wish you and Checkerz were given the finances to do a full licensed AMA MX/SX game. That would be a dream come true.

For the record, I do think that if the MVA series had a decent amount of success over the years (which it evidently did) that a full AMA SX/MX game would sell even more. I totally believe that. And there have been lots of people who have petitioned, pleaded to EA and many other avenues to try and get a game like this.

I do realize the market is small. BUT....and it is a huge BUT..there are LOTS of 4 wheeled games out there. They, too, must cost a lot to make. And with so many out there their profit's and sales must be somewhat divided.

If there was 1 true AMA licensed MX/SX then EVERYONE who is into the sport....and yes, it isn't a huge number....but everyone who is into gaming and into MX/SX would buy it. Supercross is bigger than ever with better TV exposure, internet exposure, magazine exposure and even reality shows. Maybe someone in the industry could get someone on board such as Davey Coombs or get someone like Red Bull or Monster behind it.

All I know is that back in the early 2000's we had SEVERAL MX/SX games. And they took must have took a lot of money to make. Sure the economy is worse now but at the same time the sport is more popular now as well with greater exposure via tv and internet.

And if you can't get licenses there are work around's to that as well. Make the likenesses identical or really close, make the names close but not quite right (hence avoiding license issues) and put an edit name feature like Fire pro wrestling did.

Triton, please start a new thread so we can all talk about it away from this pointless thread I created, regretfully. Maybe someone could start a kickstart program with it. That has proved to spawn many dollars for many games.

your right mate, im in the UK and i've been following AMA both SX and MX for 12 years now, when i first started i knew of a few people into it. now theres thousands upon thousands in the UK and all over the world. Like you said thru internet it has really exploded! when i first started watching way before "fast" internet, it was aired about 4am roughly 4 weeks behind the actual date. now i can watch Southwick this weekend when you guys do. MX has seriously boomed in the UK, dont get me wrong its always been big but now its way bigger than what is used to be. RC even did his RCU over here at FatCatz motoparc.

Also if MONSTER Energy backed that god awful MUD game, surely surely they would back a newly REGROUPED Rainbow Studios???? Reflex & Alive used to sponsor those crazy SX corner cam's you have, surely the MVA games were big enough over there to warrent a revival?? Well i will state! That if i win the Lotto, i WILL invest into the development of this ultimate MX/SX we seek, if it hasnt already came out. i heard theres a new mx game on the way called..TOYOTA MOTOCROSS 2013

Cant wait!!

I like Reflex. Alive not so much.

I wish you guys just took Reflex and further refined instead of starting over with Alive. But Alive is still ok in its own way.
