It's always announced at round 9 isn't it? That's why I figured Stewart wasn't in the running, because odds are Roger will choose the team this week and announce it there. Should be interesting. I think it'll be Dungey, Baggett, Barcia.

Do you think they should pick Tomac instead of Baggett?

I would think Dunge and Baggett are a done deal. The question is Alessi or Barcia.

How would that make a difference? I think it's pretty clear who the choices will be.

agree with ya GuyB..........just tryin to add some humor.........but maybe, just maybe if he put in the ride of his life, Alessi might get himself a spot...........

I hope they do a little side story on the MXdN selection on the tv broadcast. It could be a good tie-in with NBC and the Olympics going on.

It's not a bad question. If it's inevitable that Alessi is getting bumped for Barcia, and if the announcement is made before the motos begin it might cause Alessi to step up his game.

So he needs more motivation that he'd have while lining up on the gate for any other moto? I don't see it as making one iota of difference.

When is the MXoN rumored to be coming back to the USA again?

Nearest available year is 2018, but if you ask me you won`t see it in this decade.

MX1 AMA ? I am findind it really strange that MX2 looks way harder than MX in america this year, then on this thread you guys have all picked a lites rider for the MX3 ride, well accept Kongols who picked Allessi but Kongals is euro. Do you guys really think there is only 1 rider good enough in AMA MX1?

Dungey, Baggett and Barcia will be the team and they will win it at Lommel.

This would be my guess also. I think Alessi would be a good pick too though.

I`m no euro, I`m communist. Got to get that count to 4 billion somehow.

He may not need any additional motivation, but maybe MA believes he has worked his butt off and deserves to be selected this year, and getting deselected will make him angry and ride even harder.

Then again maybe he knows his place and won't care one way or another.

Yes, because Villopoto, Stewart and Canard are not available.

MX2 AMA is just beyond the rest as far as the world of MX series go. Would Tomac, Ceely,Bogal and heaps others also get the pick before the next AMA MX1 rider?

"Pretty clear"

I would have thought that 2 of the riders were pretty clear, but from all accounts the MX3 position seems to be a bit of a hot topic of discussion. I'm not looking to start a debate because I'm impartial, but it seems about 50/50 in most discussions whether to send Barcia or Alessi. Your thoughts?

Either way I'm looking forward to Southwick to find out Smile

im pretty sure its been decided already (barcia for the mx3 slot) - it would be intersting if alessi absolutely kills it at southwick though and barcia has a bad day.

In my opinion alessi deserves a chance this year- he's the only rider (currently racing) thats beaten dungey all year, and is 2nd in points. He gets great starts- it could be a mr consistent that wins it for the usa this year, in my opinion barcia is still alot more likely to crash on the 450 (and lose the des nations) than alessi.

Theyve sent tedesco and ferry before when theyve been nowhere in the points- if i was mike alessi i would be very disappointed to not be selected. Could be his last chance this year too

There is no way Alessi gets the pick over Barcia.

No disrespect to Alessi but do you really think that is a question? Alessi has had one really exceptionally moto all year, not the best pick at the moment in my eyes.

It was unclear until Ryan Villopoto gave a definite "No" answer. Smile

1. You announce at the end of the day...less problems caused that way...less interference with the days racing, too.

2. It's even possible that they might want to see who does what at the Wick (Sand) and "rationalize" their choices...
