Locked in with Yamaha? Yes and my guess would be because of the $$$ but they better get off that bike soon if they ever want another title contender on that team.

Great news! Kid gets solid top tens indoor and out on a privateer Honda, but barely qualifies for mains(sometimes not) on the JGR ride...

We'll have to see if the results are any different with Merge than they would have been with JGR.

Some say that since discovering girls and life outside of his former training program, that he may not be quite as focused as he used to be.

I'm not sure what was going on earlier on in his career, but he def seems to be partying more frequently now.

Is his back any better? It was hurting enough he couldn't finish a moto last time out.

Toyota bought 5% of the Yamaha shares years ago.Yamaha and Yamaha Motor bought Toyota shares also. They do have ongoing projects together. Giibb's Racing is toyota sponsored, and even if they are separate business', there would be a likelyhood of possible harm to that relationship.
Robbie Reynard seemed to do just fine on the Yamaha at The Ranch! Nice last moto with Ricky

He had some great starts this year and ran up front a couple of times as long as he could. I think his problem is more fitness related than bike.

I haven't seen it eject him like other riders.

I personally think its a good thing. There have been multiple examples of guys getting comfy on there privateer machine only to land a big ride and have it go to shit. Anyone remember cody cooper on that suzi of his?Dude was absolutely flying week in and week out.... But then he got on JGR and it alllll went to shit. Same as Kyle...he killed it and podiumed on the privateer bike, then got on the on factory bikes and has struggled since. Cole thompson is another guy who just switched, but Ill give him a couple more races on that yamaha before I make any more assumptions.

Just my thoughts

I heard from a pretty reliable source that when JGR picked up his practice bike it only had 7 hours on it. Either he's injured and trying to heal up or he's partying too much and not taking it seriously. You only have a small window to shine in this sport and it's a shame that so many of these racers don't see that. I don't know what Regal's deal is but he sure has had an interesting career path so far. I hope he get's it figured out.

I think JGR needs to invest in a high profile trainer similar to what the Kawasaki guys have done with Aldon Baker. For all I knwo they might have but you don't really see or hear about a fitness program there.

Kawasaki has nothing to do with Aldon Baker training their riders. That's who RV and Weimer chose to have as a trainer.

With the small window of opportunity for a rider like Regal (he isn't JS7, or RD5 or RV, you get the picture), I would go with whoever paid the best and buy an apartment building. Money for life.

There are lots of people that Yamaha is working for, and he isnt' going to win anyway. Why not fill your pockets?

Listened to his Dad (step-Dad actually I think) on PulpMX one night, super interesting interview. He told it like it is. Basically, except for the very chosen few, to make a million dollars in motocross, start with 2 million. He didn't have his head up his ass.

Isn't he working with Baggett also? And I wasn't necessarily saying Aldon is signed through Kawasaki. He just seems to be training Kawasaki riders currently. I think you missed the point of my post though. I was saying I think there is a missing link in JGR's program or they just simply don't talk about the physical training aspect that they could bring to the table. Is it generally the rider's responsibility to set up the training they need or is it a negotiable part of the contract?

Yamaha!

The new KTM.

Let's all wait and see how upright James Stewart stays on the Zook before we jump on the bandwagon. The Yamaha is different, and some can't seem to gel with the bike. But it's not a total POS like some claim.

BTW: Bandwagons are for those who either can't, or don't want to think for themselves.
