Are you an expert in motocross coaching? You are analyzing one of the fastest current pros. If so, do you consider yourself in Gary Bailey, Ryan Hughes, db , and Tony D's league?

Trey got squeezed off in to a tuff block with nowhere to go.

If RC makes his own luck, how do you explain his luck racing four wheels?

That's right.... so how the hell do you know the right answer? Easy when you are "monday quarterbacking".

Funny when people get all defensive over something slightly constructive around here. The kid is fast, really likeable & genuine, but has also made some mistakes on the track. You don't have to be a sx god to realize a simple mistake when it happens. How smart do you have to be to realize it's smart to look back over your shoulder before re-entering a track? That's a question for you, in no way a stab at Canard. Canard obviously knows that's the smart thing & I would guess a topic discussed by teams. But racers tend to get so focused on the race & wanting to win, that sometimes safety first can come second.

And I am saying its easy to say "what you would do" after the fact while sitting down on a couch. The race is moving very fast, especially after a start. I think Trey has learned a life lesson from the event. Only he knows the lesson.... unless he shared it.

So in one aspect you're saying it's easy to reflect & say when someone made a mistake while sitting on the couch & Monday Morning QB'ing. In another aspect you're saying how can you analize a mistake without being a moto-god like Gary Bailey, etc. A bit contradictory, don't you think?

Mistakes happen, all anybody can hope is that we learn from them & keep them from happening again. IMO it's much better to realize a mistake & reflect on it, without it having serious consequence, than it causing serious injury. Note, I'm making observation about something that didn't cause serious injury.

My claim: your analysis is usually more valid when you are an expert and experienced the field. I trust db's analysis over 95% of the people who follow motocross. Like wise, I would be suspect of db's analysis of Fed Policy and the dollar. If you are analyst of markets, sports, stocks, tech etc, you are an expert in the field.

Dungey needs people to crash out to win championships and Trey can do it with raw speed? OR what are you trying to get at?

I think RC's biggest attribute was his ability to bounce and bend instead of break !!

Are you talking about the jump where Canard was landed on?

When did Canard leave and re-enter the track? As far as I can tell from the replay, he got a tuff block stuck on his wheel before the corner, but proceeded to ride down the next racing lane - jumping the first 2 jumps of the triple.

This wasn't a case of re-entering the track at an unsafe place at all. He never left the track.

He said himself he knew something was wrong so he decided not to jump the triple. Unfortunately, it didn't work out for him.

You might want to watch this video and think about what you are saying. Canard never left the track.
