The German team was almost a foregone conclusion, I'm sure more teams will be announced in the coming weeks. Isn't the Belgian team normally announced the first weekend in August, or around that time?

wow... it's almost like you looked at the championship tables and picked the top two Belgian MX1 guys, then the top Belgian MX2 guy and thought that would be the fastest team....revolutionary thinking Wink

personally, i think a lot of teams will wait until after Lierop before picking... well, those teams that actually have more than 3 fast guys anyway.... unlike Germany

I don't see why that wouldn't be the team though. van Horebeek is the better and more consistent MX2 rider, on any track surface. de Dycker is riding like a boss this season, and has factory support. Whats wrong with that

Maybe they will pick Roelants over Van Horebeek? Here's my thinking behind it...

Jeremy has stated that he is actually more comfortable on hard pack tracks, and isn't the sand specialist like his fellow countrymen. Also, at every sand GP - Valkenswaard, Kegums etc. Roelants has proven to be faster.

Hey you're right. I thought van Horebeek got second overall at Valkenswaard for some reason. He got 3rd overall pretty convincingly at Lommel last year though.

Probably best to wait for Lierop afterall

It's gonna be real tough picking the Aussie team this year.

I'm guessing maybe Burner, Todd Waters and Luke Styke with Lawson Bopping as a reserve. It's gonna be a tough rebuilding year for us.

Yea to me Roelants is better than Van Horebeek in the sand, but how can you not pick the guy challenging for second in point. Belgium will have a good team. Strijbos is a good choice too. He is fast in sand. Strong team if three of those five stay fit.

That sounds like a good team. Although, I'd like to see Bopping go instead of Byrner. It's about time we started getting our younger riders a bit more international experience

Yeah I know what you mean about getting them more international experience. I kinda think they will want one experienced campaigner on the team though, to 'lead' the team.

Either Bopping or Byrne would be a good pick but I'm leaning toward Burner being in the 'run on' squad. We'll just have to wait and see what happens Smile

If Byrne gets picked I hope he lasts the weekend, he seems to crash out and injure himself every time he represents at the MXdN Sad

not looking good for italy also this year

with DP19 badly injuried (again!), we have TC222 (can't wait to see him at lommel...), davide guarneri and alex lupino, they are average riders, but they proved to be able to step up at MXDN

Team manager Joël Smets normally announces his team on the 15th of August at the Belgian National in Mol-Balen.
Maybe this year he'll wait till after the GP in Lierop ... dunno ?

In an interview this week he mentioned he was hoping to be sorting the 13 CRF in Sept and possibly race MEC. There was no mention of MXdN

Searle Mx1
Simpson MX3
Nicholls MX2

Pretty good team even though we don't have Wilson but I'm not sure how Wilson would do compared to Nicholls in the sand anyway. Looking forward to seeing how Searle does on the 450 again! Also Simpsons move to Rinaldi seems to have put him in a better position.
