Just out of interest, i'd like to understand the 'need' of so many Americans here to belittle everything about the GPs. Constantly attempting to pull holes in a (perceived) rival is not the mark of confident superior people but rather insecure and petty ones.... Grow up kids and get a life.

I kind of agree with you, but then you have to look at Mohammed's posts. Most of the time, i feel ashamed to be from the same country he is.

Sometimes, yes, there are inflamatory posts but this was not one. However, "he started it" is a kindergarten level of arguement, yes? no?

Hey, be it 47,000 or 4,700, they ran a Gp in Russia this year. Good news imo.

I've heard the IRS checks the events here in the States every now and then, counting every head
from a picture taken from an airplane or helicopter between motos.

Anything else, speculation, really.

I see alot of irony in this post.

You call out Americans for belittling the GPs, but turn around and call them insecure and petty people? HAR!

I see your quotes in your sig, "it would have more wonderful to miss it" and your previous posts about living the US, hating it and being glad to be out of here. So we get it, you like remarks that belittle the US. I think people are questioning the numbers. If you take that as a dig, so be it. 47,000 is like the MXoN attendance, just doesn't seem realistic.

You seem bothered when there is something positive about the GPs, while always ass kissing the yanks.

47 thousand or 47 hundred, well to me it dont matter bc i still dont get it why they place a gp with a t least an hour to a hotel and everyone had like 10 hours driving ( wich in russia isnt the same as a normal developed country kind of highways) back to the airport....... it def seems they attend the race so im all in for a russian gp but why dont find a venue a bit closer to airports hotels yeah just any kind of infrastrucure. After all a totally new manmade track must been possible to find a better spot for it.
didnt u all see the fanzy camping site that Zach found out there? not worthy a gp in my ops

Can you explain what the purpose of Mohammed's second sentence in the original post? Nobody would have had a word to say without his little sideways jab. He knows why he included it and so do you. I have said it a million times. We are ALL fans of motocross, why can't that be enough for us to enjoy the sport together?

Dearest Francois,

Please, at your earliest convienience, load up all your Euro-Moto-Gods and bring'em on over...doing this by Southwick would be best for your concerns and provide for increased odds at earing some points.

We shall be doing likewise in September and we plan on having a little "Clinic" for you and yours at Lommel; However, At this point it looks like Ryan, Blake and Justin/Mike will have a fairly FULL Calendar; so, please, be sure to have EVERYONE Sign-Up for our Riding Clinics as EARLY AS POSSIBLE.

Until then,

Bonjour!

I just hate fishing posts and people who deliberately try to fuel the US vs GP argument. There are a few Americans who are guilty of it but you and Matti are the two worst and most consistent European protagonists. You in particular are famous for usually showing up around MXdN time to post something inflammatory .

By the way, Im often very positive about the GP's - so much so Im often labelled as anti-American! Ironically you often state how you "don't care for Youthstream or Luongo" yet you start threads like this...? Strange.

Nope, I understand what you are saying, I just happen to think you are full of shit. You talk down about people that talk down about people, and fail to see the irony there.

Anyone know how many people were at Budd's Creek in '07? That was the largest crowd at a race I have ever seen, fans could hardly walk around the grounds.

1. The quote's from Mark Twain and the source amused me as much as anything.

2. NOWHERE have I EVER said I hated America. Glad to be home after living there? Yes, for sure.....

I'm sure they had their problems.
Somebody get Putin on the phone.

Maybe they'll do better next time.

Think about it tho, there's maybe 10 or 15 guys over there
that attended their first GP.
And saw what's up, and what can be.
Now, hooked, like most of us have been, on the motocross.

Changed lives.

All the money will go for the bike, screw school, even the girlfriend will get
second billing.

And out of those 15, maybe a World Champion.

I remember when they said that the turkish GP had 40 000 something spectators, but still there wasnt even a bleacher to be found Tongue

Also 18 riders in the premier class in the real world motocross championship. STACKED.

In mother russia, Points fight for you!

PB.....if you are referring to my post on page 1.....it was not my intent to slam the GP scene at all. My slam was towards Luongo........NOT the riders , tracks , crowds ect........just towards him.

I see every guy across the pond in this thread completely "missed" my line about the USGP?? Luongo's press stated something like 28,000 - 30,000 people for that event. The people here that actually went.....said it was closer to 8,000.....give or take a little.

I'm saying " HE" ( Luongo ) and his press blow things out of proportion......and the USGP was a prime example.

Quit trying to lump all us Americans together. Get that God damn chip off your shoulder please.

Maybe you guys across the pond should ask Luongo ...."If he is getting that sort of turn out for his events.....then why don't the riders get paid more?" OR....Better yet.........Ask him "why most of the fast guys end up coming over and competing in the USA nationals and SX?"

I'll give you a hint.....Money + Prestige + Stiffer competition.

That's "MY" opinion though.........and I'm sure you guys have your own.

From MX-Life.TV video on RacerX, it specifically states that there were 25k in attendance. OP is an idiot

They count everytime someone enters the gate both days, tons of double and triple counting going on. The USGP number was so far off. Talking to people working there the ticket sales were only around the 6,000 mark if i remember right, and they claimed the attendance was in the high 20's. I don't doubt that the russian GP got a huge turnout. I've seen pictures of what it looked like back in the day (HOLY CRAP!) But i never trust a press release that comes from them...
(and i was there at both USGP's ive seen local races with better turnouts it was awful!!! and before some euro wants to get on here and say we don't support the event. All the fans there were the core industry. My friends who are casual enthusiast that went to the national ever year didnt go to the USGP since they dint even know it was happening. There was no advertisement for the event. I got back from the race and basically no one knew it had even happened. They didn't ignore the event, they had no clue it was even happening)

No he is not. Mulin at first said 25 but in a second moto corrected himself and said official number is 47. There were tweets from a track that said there wasn`t enough room in a stands and those bankings trackside to fit all the people.

I think their published numbers may be for the weekend's attendance...counting Saturday's qualifiers, and Sunday's GP motos.
