I don't care who rides sand or what ever.

Baggett has the points lead, the heart and determination and is the clear choice.

Determination? Didn't he say last year that he didn't "get the big deal" of the mxdn? Or something along those lines? Hes my pick too though, just hopes he realizes what a big deal it is

I think he said that he did not understand how big a deal the event was until he got there and experienced it first hand. People describing it only goes so far until you see it first hand, experience the atmosphere, see what is at stake, and how crazy the fans of the other countries are etc.

Definately Baggett on the MXoN Team. Who else, that's the question? Definately Dungey too, just don't know who gets the 3rd spot yet. JMO

Since I agree that Baggett should have the MX2 spot, Barcia wouldn't be on that bike. He's got experience on the 450 and did quite well last year in the few nationals he rode on it.... is he a good choice for MX3, or dare I say it?...... Mike Alessi? 800 has always been consistent and fast and would make a great anchor for solid finishes.

I thought Barcia because of his ruputed sand riding skills but I'm going to have to agree that the US simply have to send Bagget now,I think he'll probably win at Southwick anyway too

He's got one under his belt now,yes he underestimated Europe and said he'd never seen anything like that track after the 2 days of racing but it's behind him now,the guy is in such great shape he can ride anything, often the rougher the better as he says, and I think he could attack really technical tracks hard too

He maybe on the very limit at times but that's his edge,it's why he's that step ahead, the guy is awesome this year

I'm not a big fan of Mike but, he's earning the spot. If he doesn't at least get offered the position it will be criminal.

Does it even matter? No matter who we send we're coming back with the trophy. Look what the 250f guys are doing to the world champion.

I was primarily refering to MA getting the postion as a positve point. Don't really see the disrespecful part.

Tomac won today. I'll be the first to mention his name here, think he deserves at least that.

Any of the top 3 will do fine.

So begs the question,IF Herlings beats whichever riders out of today's 250 class that the US send over, what would it say about who the best is?

Herlings may be quick, but he's not competing against the same level of competition. Seems a couple of MX2 World Champs have not managed to win much here against the competition. Feel pretty good that our top three will will be very good, and there is some good depth even beyond that. RD, BB, ?? (Barcia, Alessi, Stewart(?), Tomac, etc.)

That's like saying:

Pretty much a given...

Why? Alessi is clearly one of if not the greatest started ever in our sport. Being in mx3 he will always have an outside gate pick. We need the best starter in that class. He's proven that he is second best 450 rider right now barcia rode what 3 races? On a 450 and did good, but mike has won motos and overalls. And consistently up front. Barcia isn't as fast as mike and you never know if barcia will show up and get smoked or show up and win. Mike is consistently up front aside from a rare crash. Mike has earned the spot wether you like him or not. Having said that, if stewie comes back, and starts winning, he should be selected

Barcia holeshot almost 50% of the races when he rode the 450. He's a great starter as well. He beat alessi in pretty much every race last year.

I'm just saying anyone who can pour the piss to it at the half way mark and annihilate the competition,Not to mention one of the few 250's to jump Larracos Leap last week. I want on my team.

No disrespect to Tomac or Barcia both worthy adversaries.

Cant argue with that statement.

The other countries just don't have a 3rd rider.

You guys could send RD, JS & BB. Then JB, MA & ET as the B team.

I think there are a few others doing the same thing these days. Grinning

If the pick was made today, Allessi deserves the MX3 spot he has earned it this year.
