If they want it bad enough they will find a way to get it. All you can do is a few locking mechanisms and a good security camera setup if thats in the budget. Atleast you will be able to find who stole it if you are that worried about if.

You'd best tell everyone you live in the UK cause it's a whole different game there.

I kept my YZ in my living room when I lived in Portsmouth, people stole everything that wasn't welded down or watched by several cameras.

Good luck mate

Lock it up with heavy duty chains and locks, preferably to something HEAVY. Then buy a cheap baby moniter and put it in the shed-you can hear someone fart from 100 feet away! They are cheap and you will hear any untoward activity in the shed as they try to break your chain and lock or drag it off. Those things are great when you are traveling too.

Put yamaha stickers all over the outside of the shed, they'll lose interest . Maybe some brake rotor locks ,at least then they have to carry it away .

Bullets cost 10 cents. Buy 2 and use both. One in each testicle. If you only want to harm the piece of shit of course. Laws are different here. We can't kill predators who try to kill, rape, steal and maim our families here in the good old USA.

Take a wheel off it. Makes it a little harder to push away.

Don't know how it is there, but if you got room, put a plastic tarp down and bring it in the house. You're not going to kill some one for stealing your bike. Here, you would be in prison for life and giving every dime you have to the family of the thief that tried to steal it. You have to prevent the theft, not have videos or solutions afterwards. You will never get it back. Use your head.

Always shoot to kill. If you want a court to see it your way, only shooting to injure doesn't show you thought you were in enough danger to need to shoot.

Now, if you happen to not kill, that doesn't mean keep shooting until you do.

That isn't a viable alternative for protecting yourself from from theft, or personal injury. Look what has happened with the "stand your ground laws" , in Texas and Florida. A woman in Florida was getting beat up by her husband, found his gun and fired it in the air to stop him. Now she's facing a mandatory 20 year jail sentence under Florida law for doing that. I bet in any state in this country, if you shot some one trying to steal your bike out of your garage, you would be the one going to jail. You confronted him, and could have did 911. No life threatening danger to you, unless more happened. This is a very fine line in our laws. Ignorance of them , if you legally own a gun, can hurt you more than having a $10,000 bike stolen from you. Everyone out there, know the laws, and shooting some one for trying to steal your bike is getting you a jail sentence. Please be careful on this one and don't offer stupid advise. Our minds think of justice, and doing the right thing to protect our property, but the laws and the courts aren't always thinking the same way.

In TN if they are in your house uninvited you can shoot to kill. But that don't apply to someone dragging a bike out of a shed. Wink you are right though there is a fine line on what is legal and what will put you in prison. I am sure even if the guy is in your house uninvited, and you fill him full of holes in the back, your gonna go away for a bit.

We have the "Castle Law" here in Texas which to the layman means you can legally get your ass shot off for stealing a bike out of a garage.

To answer your question though, Connor. Is the floor concrete? If so you can get anchor bolts and cable it down to them. thieves are usually wanting to get in and out with out much fuss, so they won't hang around trying to cut a cable.

His name was Fumbles, lived in Long Beach, rode a '47 knucklehead. He lived in a piece of crap house with a single door garage under. When he came home at night he would put the bike in the middle of the garage and place a double barrel shot gun over the handle bars. Fumbles then would rig up a cable from BOTH triggers, thru a series of pulley wheels and attach to the door. Oh, he left about 4 feet of slack. One night two guys tried stealing it. The one who lifted the door was cut in half!
The cops tried to charge him with premeditated murder (1st degree).
Bad News-charged with 2nd degree murder, sentenced to 8-12 years.
Good News-he kept his bike!

Booby traps are bad. They work, but are very bad.

I always had a perfectly good shed but my bikes always lived in the house with 5 locks and more recently a webcam. (I never left a bike dirty so it wasn't really an issue having them in the house) Not paranoid as every single moto friend I have has had at least one bike stolen, often during the day, rear wheels removed. Nothing stops them. Other tips are don't wash your bike out the front and basically keep it a secret from the neighbourhood.

That isn't the whole story with that. You cant run out to your car, get a gun, and then run back in the house and fire shots. It kinda defeats the whole "I was cornered and scared for my life" argument, since you could have just left.

And he wasn't beating her when she fired shots, she had already got the restraining order and was at his house trying to get the rest of her stuff, when he got home from work. She got scared and ran out to get her gun.

Not that I have any sympathy for that piece of shit, but that isn't a case of defending your life

Your posts really are getting worse, not better.

As for your assertion about protecting families, you obviously missed out on the story of the dad in Texas whose daughter was being molested. He hit the guy in the head, killed him, and was not charged because he was defending her.

A buddy of mine welded a cage that had a hinged side that he could drop down and roll the bike out and when it was locked it had 4 sides and a top made of angle iron and expandable metal. The whole thing was bolted on the inside to the slab. With a disc lock. Nothing is ever fool proof, however.

Get an enclosed storage shed that you can lock shut, and install security/motion lights outside of it. Or rent a storage space.

Home owners and renters do not cover a motorcycle. You need an individual policy for the unit.
