Not sure how well this will turn out. My gopro was dead.
Willard sure did make that KTM sound sweet. But it seemed like bringing a knife to a gun fight.

Well, yes and no. I think he had qualified 39th fastest but only 36 go straight in. The last four race their way in and he got a bad start and struggled in the consi. Finished way back. Cool kid though. Enjoyed talking with him in the pits.

Ya that was Broc Peterson, He qualified 1-1-1 at Red-Bud Regional for LL in 16+ class.

He has been doing this on a shoe-string budget (I mean picking up pop bottles and turning them in eating Romin budget) to make the races.
He needs help as many do but if you like 2-strokes he will make you happy in your efforts

Yes he is, I am willing to Bet he makes the Main at Red-Bud on his CR 250. just hope he gets some support soon so that he can keep racing at that level.

If you are trying to make a name for your self and open some eyes why not race a 450 and give your self a chance.

If you are fast enough to qualify at a national i would think you could get some support from a shop, and have the money to get there, you can buy a 450 thats current. Unless its just for fun he has a job. I am pretty sure willard could get his hands on a ktm 450.

It looks like Willard is on a linkage bike? I didn't think the '12s were legal.

not exaclty. Its hard to get people to give you money to race a motorcycle. If it was easy there would be more privateers at the races. Why do you think all the privateers are struggling and asking for donations? They make no money and spend a bunch. Ive been there and done it and got tired of it. So I got a full time and race for fun and make money on the local scene.

Local shops give discounts to racers but in this economy can only give so much help. In the end the shop gets what from it? Gee so and so got a 30th at some national. How many bike sales does that generate for the shop?

I doubt his CR250 will be legal..its too old, even if its an 07.

I hope someone makes it into a main with a 2-stroke before the end of this season.

Looks like Broc picked up the support he needed! We've been bouncing around the idea of supporting a 250 smoker in the nationals and when we saw broc ( a buddy of ours) make a run at it, we couldn't pass up jumping on board!

Broc goes into depth on why he chose to ride his 250 smoker and not run a 450, as well as a few of the other points noted above.
