It has been nearly four years since the tragic death of Nicholas Parisot occurred leaving an open wound that has not yet healed.
Nicholas Parisot, a 13 year-old boy, was the son of Rick Parisot and Kate Throckmorton. He was riding his motorized dirt bike on some trails behind his grandmother’s home on June 13, 2008, when he struck a rope that was purposefully strung across the trail resulting in his death.
Detectives from the Wilton Police Department have interviewed many, many people, some multiple times in an effort to solve this case. There are no known eye witnesses to this crime. In addition, members of the Conn. State Police Major Crime Scene Unit, state prosecutors, and investigative personnel have all worked closely with our detectives combing their total efforts.
The Conn. State Forensic Science Laboratory has examined evidence and DNA samples in connection with the investigation and evidence has also been examined by the FBI Forensic Science Laboratory in Virginia. Noted forensic science expert Dr. Henry Lee and his team of scientists have also reviewed the case forensics and found that scientifically all that could be determined from the evidence was accomplished. At this point, all the evidence gathered has been turned over to the state’s attorney for their review and consideration on further action. The Wilton Police Department continues to investigate this tragic crime and provide further information to the state’s attorney in hopes that they will issue arrest warrants and prosecute the offender or offenders who have committed this crime.
Along the lines of our investigation, it is our hope that those in the community have cooperated with detectives in the past will continue to do so and those who have not, will come forward to provide every shred of information they have to investigators. Please search your soul and ask yourself if this were your child, wouldn’t you want to others to cooperate with authorities to help you and your family.
This case is far from over. Our investigation will not end until there is closure for the Parisot family and the offender and/or offenders are brought to justice. The Wilton Police Department and the Wilton Police Commission are fully committed to bringing those responsible for this crime to justice and will steadfastly continue to investigate this crime until such time as those responsible are arrested and prosecuted.

There are just some sick people in this world. . .
I just read about that...man that is sick
I live on 120 acers outside of Toronto and have always rode on my families land and the surrounding land with permission from the owners.
A germen real estate tycoon purchased the neighboring property and turned it into a hunting/game farm. The trails in this area have been there since way before I was born. One of these trails go from my land onto the game farm for about 100 feet and then back onto my farm. I had just started riding again 8 months after having surgery on a badly broken foot so I was taking it pretty easy cruising around in 3rd gear on my 450. Went around the corner to see at the last second a huge log that after later inspection was cut, staked into the ground and mostly hidden in tall weeds. I managed to gas it enough to get my front tire over it. My back tire hit, pitched me over the bars and re-broke my foot from the impact of the back tire smashing the log.
Of course the land owner denied hiding the log. I had to have surgery again and couldn't walk let alone ride for another 4 months.
To me it's crazy how much contempt some people have for dirt bikes. New people move into the country from the city and complain about the noise until you can barely ride on your own property. Meanwhile I get woken up at the crack of dawn 5 days a week by rich guys un-loading on pheasants like they're hunting Osama. Seems like a double standard. Guns are loud too but because who is firing the guns people seem to tolerate it and then call the cops the second they hear "one of those punk kids" on a MX bike.
Sorry for putting this novel in this thread, but I can totally relate. I hope Nicholas Parisots' family finds justice.
If a private property owner decides to close a trail on their property they should do more then drape a rope/log, barb wire across the trail.
Open up a dialog with known neighbors that use the trail, post multiple large signs indicating the trail is closed, and/or gated.
Theres a moral obligation here that supercedes property rights imo.
There's some cross-wired people in this world.

Sad that stuff like this happens. A kid got killed in the neighborhood that I use to live in and it appears that the kid that was with him knows what happened, but wouldn't tell. That kid's family ended up moving as well.
I've got to be honest, if I killed someone I wouldn't expect my family to stand up for me if the knew that I did it and the person died for no good reason.

Just look at the Moxley/Skakel case - they got that MF - but it took 20 years
This incident serves as a reminder of how this type of thing happens everywhere. There has been times we have found barb wire across areas where our boys practised . Be sure when you and /or your rider is practising that you make it a point to inspect the area prior. cyndi goerke

And the far Left has the environment as their religion.
Turns out that there are just sick people on all sides of the aisle and no matter where they end up politically, they are going to try and do harm to others.
I Hope they find the person responsible for such a dog act to young Nicholas.
Very angry; and, to be honest...it hurts my feelings, too.
To think that someone would do this kinda shit: Form the Original Story/Post to those Earth First Fucks...makes me wanna Punch everyone of their members in the head. Twice...maybe Thrice.
I have to believe that Karma will take care of the little shit that did this stuff...and...I can only hope...PAINFULLY.
Oh, and, to any and all Earth 1st Types...please...feel free to GFY, EAD...and Fall the Fck Outta that Tree your livin' in.
Pretty much my reaction while reading that.
I've come across rocks, logs etc intentionally put in the trail.
The Death Manual
Not only are they sick MFers, but cowards as well !!!
why everybody so pussy nowadays? If you want to injure a rider- flag him down and have a go at it with your hands. Don't set up boobytraps like you're sneaky VC for crissakes.
And on a lesser scale, trail riding (legally) with my brother a few weeks back, on a pretty serious single track hillclimb, he goes over the bars hard. The reason? Some arseclown had bolted and cemented in (across 2 rocks) some thick steel cable. Again, lucky it wasnt higher (went between the front tyre and the fender) but stopped him hard. Yet to find any information on the culprit. I promise massive damage if they are found.
I was raised in a recreation area not far from that incident where there were many summer homes. I had all winter to ride trails, but when folks came out for the summer I'd find my trails booby trapped with logs and rocks to keep me out, at 14 I didn't get it but having known what the outcome of such carelessness could be it certainly infuriated me. Unfortunately I also became a bit of a vandal in the off season.
