Dungey just earned championship #2 if he stays on two wheels.

Smart move on his part. Safety first. Now the hate clan will come out in 3-2-1....

Bummer but he looked to be in a lot of pain after 1st moto so maybe good to heal up a bit and get back later.
He gave it a good go, wrist injuries suck big time!

That sucks, it was exciting having him back. I've never been the biggest fan of his, but I wish him the best in recovery for SX 2013!

Oh give it up already!

Saying that guy on the track was responsible for Stewart's crash is the fuckin stupidest thing that has been on Vital for a while.

Its just an excuse - HE DID NOT CAUSE STEWY TO CRASH! Its up to the riders to remain focused on the racing. Theres a HELL of a lot more "distractions" in the first turn of a start then some guy way to the right of a race line.

Stop with that bullshit.

Very disappointing but probably the right call. Very upsetting how that idiot in CO crossed the track, hopefully there were some repercussions for him. Stuff like that needs to be stopped.

If you can get 5th in a moto, you need to be lining up for the second one. It's just that his ego won't let him ride around for points in 5th. He's gonna be awesome at Nascar. Guess if he doesn't have a car that can win that day, he will just pull off. Whistling

I agree with that. He just can't stand riding around in 5th. In his interview he said, "Those guys are riding good especially Ryan. I just couldn't do it anymore." That to me implied that with his wrist injury, he can't beat Ryan, and he'd rather not race than get top five.

Not much of a fan of Stewarts but I can't see him not lining up just because he finished fifth in the first moto. Yes he pulled a goober move at Unidilla but this is way different, but you are the experts........

He also said he had a tough time holding on. Perhaps after the moto he felt he was in worse shape than before the first race and thought it best not to take a big risk.

it was the teams decision for him not to line up, he had his gear on and was ready.

He's not salvaging anything by riding for points in 5th, nevermind the fact that 6th had run him back down by the end of the moto. His wrist wasn't going to be better the 2nd moto. He probably took painkillers before the 1st moto therefore wouldn't be able to take them before the 2nd moto as well.

He knew that he wasn't going to be able to get even 2nd or 3rd in the 2nd moto and there was a decent chance he makes a mistake and gets hurt worse. What's he riding around for points for? The championship is out of reach at that point anyway.

Man alive some of you guys must have never had an injury before or you could relate to how it feels thinking you are ready to go then re-aggravate it. The guy showed up and gave it a great effort, his team and himself decided second moto wasn't gonna happen today. Hope he heals up good and quick.

Tweeted that he couldn't hold on after 6 laps.

And to run the pace those guys are running and to not be able to hold on is sketch.

He said he will be back and hopefully he is completely healthy.

If he thinks his grip is compromised, and has a numbe hand, it's not just a safety issue for him, but everyone else.

You know if Stew would have not been "soft" showed some "heart" and went out there, wrecked and took someone out, no-one here would have given him any grief.

Agreed. It would be smart on his part to. If he can do practices and a moto, then RedBud he should be able to do the whole thing and be able to be competitive. Time will tell.

I cant believe anyone would talk crap about his decision not to race. If he would have raced and crashed because he couldn't hold on this place would explode. He tried his best and thats all that can be expected period. It was awesome watching him race and hopefully he will be back soon

He definitely looked like he hurt after the first moto. I hope he heals up quickly, good call to not start the 2nd moto. I know I wouldn't want to be a dirt dart to please the bungholes that question his decisions.

Can't tell if you're serious, fishing, or just sarcastic.

I'm a dungey fan but give JS credit for at least doing moto 1 with a bum wrist. He gave it a try, didn't work out, ok.

Sarcastic as hell. Love the site, I just don't understand the folks here that rip on riders no matter what they say or do.
