That crossed the track? Why haven't we heard his name yet? There has been talk that he was found and regretted crossing when he did. Why haven't we heard who this moron was?

Very distracting to a racer, this is not the same as race traffic or lappers, it is a major distraction that should never happen.

Had the track not been so rutted up, Stewart probably would've been fine.
Appears to have caused enough of a distraction, his concentration was disturbed enough, appears he cross rutted/ate it.

Sucks, and shouldn't have happened. Period. And I'm sure guilty party feels badly for James. But, life goes on....

Yes they should get all that dirt off the track, so the photogs don't trip.

Yeah well maybe they need to be way more strict where these guys can cross a track, crossing the track on the landing of a big jump is totally retarded. he's lucky he didn't get mowed right over.

He chose that line from where he jumped the jump (before he saw the person crossing the track). Stewart chose a shitty rut that kinked and went another direction. As soon as the rut kinked to the right his front wheel hopped out of it and cross rutted in to another rut on the left. It kinked back to the middle and washed his front end out right when he got in to it. Just the way I see it. 39 other bikes went through that section before he saw it again, it was over watered and I'm sure the lines had changed unbeknownst to him.

It would be nice to know if was a Seasoned MX photog or a local Denver post sports guy? After hearing about the side by side on the backside of a jump at freestone and now this I thi k there is a problem that needs to be addressed by the higher ups.

Correct.

Big James and I had a discussion at the end of the second 250 moto that included him wagging his finger and giving me a, "Y'all photographers..." That was after he'd reported another photographer for crossing the track.

After I suggested that he not lump us all together, and that if I cross the track I want enough visibility and gap between riders that I can do it at a leisurely stroll, he agreed...so that there was extra time in case I stumbled. We both chuckled at that.

When we were done talking? He walked across the track back to the pits...

whomever that was needs to have credentials pulled for all the races in 2012. yes it was a total accident of whomever. I am thinking the person absolutely did not know anyone was coming; due to the hilly, elevation changes of the track. this kind of shit should not be happening in any level of a top tier sport. think about it, I don't care if it is horse racing, downhill skiing, nascar or whatever? if something like this happened, I'm pretty sure heads would be rolling.

If it was a photo hound, they were on folks last year about this very issue after a deal at Unadilla, with a some pretty clear directions about what to and not to do.

In general, we're not supposed to cross the track when it's hot. If that's going to be enforced at 100%, expect a much more limited view of the action.

I do expect High Point and future races will be a little less pleasant for photogs...and that we'll be in the media tent at 8:00 sharp next week for a safety meeting.

The rider who Big James reported in the second moto was called to the AMA truck, mid-moto, and got a good dressing down.

Honestly is there really a need for all the photographers and 10 million photo's a round ?

Maybe they should limit the number of guy's with Vests ?

That's been an ongoing discussion for quite a while.

another thing that i spotted on the hangtown show, and again yesterday on tv, was the UTVs driving around the edge of the track. and its not the medical units either. its the thor parts unlimited guys I THINK. why the F do they need to be driving around while racing is going on? 1. that has to be distracting to riders and 2. what happens when that guy hits the gas instead of brakes, or some other similar accident. the ones i noticed on TV were so close to the track, what if the rider got out of control and slammed into the side of the UTV?

Post a reply to: So who was the moran...
