I got this from a friend of mine whose opinion I respect. Most of you are familiar with his work in the industry (and no, I'm not going to name him).
I assume some of today's posts are the reason for it, but you can read for yourself.
I think Vital MX has completely gotten out of control. (And this is NO reflection on you AT ALL).
I just can’t believe motocross fans – a sport we all share a common love for – talk/type the way they do to each other on the Vital site.
(My #1 chat site).
It’s just so sad.
It just keeps getting worse and worse and worse.
One post will start out reasonably well (or very well intended) and then, duly, person gets attacked with this crazy mob mentality.
I guess it’s easy to brave (or a TOTAL asshole) on Vital when one is sitting behind a keyboard of a PC/Mac, but come on… Be a man and try, at least to the best of your ability, to ask or answer a question without being a damn cyber punk.
I’m sure it’s all VERY trying, but keep up the good work, Steve.

The anonymous nature of online posting tends to bring out the worst in people if they have a different viewpoint than someone else.
So I guess we can have some fun watching the 250 class until next May, and then we can do another emergency room roll-call and see if anyone made it through Supercross; again.
Time to cull the herd.

Put on board, 2-3 more members on this forum that are mature, and relatively unbiased, and allow them to moderate some threads. Putting the burden of modding this site on only Guyb and Scottie is tough. Have a few more helping hands to help clean the mess up of people mouthing off?
I'm always in threads that resemble this, because I come to vital because i love reading about other people's opinions of racers/races, and to get news, but at the same time have to sift through threads full of bs and rants/disrespect towards racers.
Put these fellas on a temporary (or perm if needed) ban long enough, and people will get the hint to where there'd be little need for moderation to clean useless banter up.

I don't mind jokes and sarcastic remarks, but the insults and outright hate towards each other and the riders is too much.

I think people forget this place does reflect our sport.
Kids do come here and do post here and its not doing them any favors with the language on here and also how people talk about riders. I actually have a friend whose son isn't aloud to click on the Vital forum tab for those reasons, which is a shame there are some great people here hidden under the filth.
When I first joined Motodrive back in 06'? I though this place was awesome.
It made me love the sport even more and I felt apart of a community, riders and insiders were posting, it was for the most part friendly and just a great place to talk moto. Now we have riders who don't even want to visit the site let alone post on it.
I have seen riders on here bashed for voicing their opinions on themselves. Even privateers even asking for help to help keep our gates full and our sport alive were bashed for asking for help.
I feel saddened to see a place that use to be so welcoming turn into a bashing pit for riders, for new members, riders and people who work within the actual industry. I feel sad for some of the people who use to post on Vital/MD don't even bother anymore and for the people who still post here but gave into childish behavior.
There is no bigger community for MX online than Vital.
GuyB and Scottie can only do so much to contain what happens around here, just because you can get away with it doesn't mean you should do it. Most of you before you hit submit should ask themselves, "Is that how I would want my son or daughter to act?" Or, "Would I want my son or daughter to see me acting like this?"
This place does need some clean up but it should be done by GuyB or Scottie clicking people.
It should be done by it's members.
I think everyone one of us should take a chill pill out on the whole smart ass remarks on this forum too.
I would absolutely help and I'm sure you have a few buddies on here that would help clean it up a bit for free in their spare time.
Banning/clicking someone isn't always a deterrent either and they just sign right back up more angry ready to cause more problems & talk more junk.New email addy's,using proxies,VPN's,cousin Vinny's network,wife margrets Qwest phone ect..
You could have 100 Mods banning people and clipping posts,but people are still going sign back up and post the same stuff til they get clipped again.It goes on & on...and keeps reoccurring.
And as for verifying real names,would be hard to do even with scanned ID's or even using a credit card processor and using a 1 time life time fee during the sign up process,due to pre paids & what not (plus you have fraud to deal with).Even verifying by phone ,people could use trak phones ect...just like they do to make fake CL accounts.
