So I wrote here a couple of weeks ago, asking about My bike cutting out when it gets hot ( about 10-20min in) everybody Said it was the stator ( one Guy betting his house on it so i guess i'm one house richer now). I gave the stator to à Guy thAt could test is and he gave it back and Said it ran perfectly.

So, now i'm wondering if any of you might have an idea on what to check for.

Thanks in advance

sometimes a coil will breakdown only when it gets hot, so that is a possibility. also, im not sure of what bike you are reffering to but dont rule out the reeds.(if it has them)

How did he test the stator? If all he did was ohm it out he probably did get good readings, but your problem was with it hot.

Oh, sorry forgot some details.. Yes it's a Husqvarna WR125 2011.

The guy tested it by running it through different heats, not sure how it works but it wasn't just ohm measuring it.

The best test.........get a friend or find a new friend, use his coil for a 10-20m test. In my experience there is a low speed coil (when it fails bike usually will not start or it quits within minutes) and the main coil (when it fails it takes more time). Both have failed in the wrapings and when they get hot they short. When they cool the short is temporaily healed.

Yup. Had a small bore Yamaha that my nephew rode way back when. It would run good for about 20 minutes , then start misfiring, popping, and finally quit. Let it cool off for about ten minutes,it would repeat the whole routine in about ten minutes.

Ended up being the high speed coil on the stator. There was an "open" in the coil that grew as the heat got to it.

Not sure if it matters but my bike runs perfectly untill it dies, never miss fires or anything, then it just bogs down and quits like I've ran out of fuel.... We tried changing the volt regulator, then it seemed to be working a little longer, maybe 30 minutes, but then it died again. After that it didn't even want to start again, then we took down the stator.

But do you think it would be after about the same time every time I ride then?

sounds like the cdi box is bad. same as a common problem with a few yz125's a few years back. they'd run fine until they got hot and just cut out. they'd work perfect again once they cooled down. try and find one that you can borrow

Have you ever had the carb off or had any suspicions of dirt getting into your carb? Does it satrt cutting out s soon as you take the choke off?

First time it happend was when I was riding and that was 1½ hour in, I then took down the whole motor and made a piston change and such on it because I thought that the piston ring had melted together ( I felt like I lost the comp) and I think I looked over the carb then ...

I turn off the choke pretty quick after I fire it up so I don't think that matters

Could you feel that it got hot or was it just normal hot then? Problem with testing another one is that I don't know anyone with a WR and the CR isn't the same....

it wouldnt get hotter than normal, it would just fail at running temp. pretty much how you're describing your problem.
