And the water buffalo was a 750 and was called the GT750.
Two stroke power!
Look how light and "flickable" that bike looks!!!
looks about 10x more light and flickable than this bike and those Zumas go 10 mph faster i hear
Pit Row
Figures, I've always been an LC Yamaha guy.
I rode a guys 500 H1 once. It was a beast.
Handled like a shopping cart full of bowling balls
They are the black, charcoal grey and white ones with drum brakes.
Late 60's, maybe 1970.
71 to 72 were the blue ones.
You could get them with either a disc front or electronic ignition.
These were the baddest of the mach 3s.
10's, low 11s at the drag strip, I had one that went 128mph in 5th, flat out, bone stock.
And they retailed for $999.99.
After 72 the went green, choked the intakes to quiet it down, beefed the frame and made it a bit more civilized.
Then the H2 came out. A 750 3 that was a monster. Nothing could touch it.
There were stories of guys scrapping them believing they were death machines,
not wanting to be responsible for selling and then killing somebody.
Another good bike, the water buffalo was always a pig, were the RD 350 and 400s Yamaha made.
Great handling, kinda peaky power but it won the Daytona 200, beating bikes twice it's size.
They are orange. The 400's, grey, the last 2 stroke street bike sold in the USA, are great for the
twisties, to this day.
but alas, by 1985, everything looked like a honda 750.
