No way possible seems to be heard all too often around here. Yet Honda now offers this dual sporter at $4499.00. Strip it down and put some knobbies on it Honda. Might be the perfect bike to bring some people back to the sport. You know, for fun. Not everyone needs or wants Eli Tomac's bike.

just a new version of the xr.. and click a little further: 10 years after kawasaki's 110 intro and stellar 110L, we get hondas offering: a base model 110. Does look cool though!

Good idea. The frame/fork/brakes look capable for a C/D rider. Tanks a little big for road riding, but other than that, yea, feasible. Could have 40lbs off if you threw away the cams/valvetrain/timing chain and associated parts though.

Man, I love dual sports! That thing looks great! It weighs quite a bit more than a crf250r, nearly 100lbs. As was said before though, that could be reduced with a few easy alterations. Overall a great bike. I wonder why the price point is so low? It's significantly less expensive than the Yamaha comparison (WR250R) which starts at $6,590.

Like hell it looks capable for a C rider. Not a chance.

It's crazy that Honda gave the new looks to the 250L and not to the CRF250R. IMO, the best bike for an up and comer is the CRF230. Heck, I want one of these for myself:

This pic is from MXA 2012 test, the 2013 has a white rear fender (http://www.motocrossactionmag.com/Honda/News/HONDA-CRF230-TEST-1287.aspx)

Strange that the 250 is water cooled and has fuel injection while being $500 cheaper than the listed price for the carb'd/air cooled CRF230L. The 250 looks like a much better bike for less money.

250 for the street, yeah, but for the dirt I think the 230 would be better. Besides, you could replace the 230 front fender with a 250ish one (you may have to do some finigglin).

Looks good.

However......this is just a thought, and maybe it's just me, but it would seem that having three 250cc models with a "CRF" designation (with this one a completely different bike than the R and X model, could pose a potential problem when it comes to getting spare parts. Of course this wouldn't apply to every consumer, but having worked in a dealership parts department, I've dealt with people almost on a daily basis who don't know what they have.
I've seen problems arise with the Yamaha WR250s, mainly when it comes to the R and X model when getting tires.

I'm shocked Newmann, this makes those 1/8 ton bikes look like feather weights.

DIMENSIONS
Rake 27°35' (Caster Angle)
Trail 113mm (4.4 inches)
Wheelbase 56.9 inches
Seat Height 34.7 inches
Curb Weight 320 pounds

We all know that isn't happening from Honda. KTM could pull that one off.

Exactly what I was going to say. This baby is a whale. Ok, reasonably shed maybe 20 lbs taking off batteries, and lights. There still be whales here. Can anyone figure out what the hp to weigth ratio on a 25 hp and 300lbs bike LOL

Should handle like it's on rails with all that centralized mass. And feel planted in the corners. Shocked

They have a class in Brazil for these bikes. If you have ever had the chance to race them with your buddies all on equal bikes, you are one lucky mofo. I have been to races where they have an adult class for just these bikes. Turns were filled with laughter, frustration and I can say I have never had more fun on a bike. With a Works Shock and CR125 Forks, these bikes are even more fun. Box stock you cant find another bike more fun.

Fun bike, sure, MX'er no way in hell. You want an entry level MX'er by a 125 for a 1000 bucks and fix it as it breaks.

There is a good example. This would out perform the stripped down version of that for less than half the cost. Take the rest and invest in KTM stock.
