People like Frossard, Philapperts, DeSalle, DeDycker, Borbryshev, Paulin, Leok and Goncalves (who would still be in MX2 but for the bullshit age limit) are running a pace that is far superior to your 3rd, 4thand 5th place guys in the 450's. Thats why riders like Metcalfe, Tedesco and Short find it so hard to get into the top 5 in a race at the MXdN.

That is the most bullshit statement, with the possible exception of an occasional McCreadism, that I have ever heard.

Great ride at Unadilla on other people's kit btw, shame he wasn't ay the MXdN ,Frossard,Philippaerts too.Paulin did well Bobby too considering the injury he'd had

You are talking the MX2 class here in Europe. The best young talent moves from MX2 to AMA lites or MX1. Usually due to the almighty $$$ and very little else alot of them head stateside. If you are seriously of the expectation Roczen would dominate all the European quick guys you need to have a look outside your bubble. Miost of us "euro's" love AMA MX just as much as the GPs, but when we come on here and have to defend the series or riders from people who try to ignore it when they are not slating it, we can come across as bitter. Anyone who thought K-Roc would come and go 24-0 wants to lay down that little glass pipe they play with.

He wouldn't. You don't realise how fast those guys are. Kevin's awesome but he wouldn't run with the likes of Desalle or Frossard or Paulin, not now. Obviously to be fair those guys are a lot younger and in their prime.

Andrew Short would be in the mix but again, it comes down to the circuit. He'd be significantly stronger round an AMA track like Thunder Valley than he would on the GP scene.

If the tards on here would of said "watch this kid he's gonna shine once he figures out everything" then the HYPE would be easeir to deal with. Instead you get Roczen with the hole shot and win STAMP IT. It's just not realistic right now. Go watch the 1st moto and watch how he dealt with Bagget passing him. He can't handle that speed right now. Bottom line, STFU with Roczen gonna do this or that. Just let it play out.

I think it's to early to judge since we are just 2 rounds in. But it's already easy to see there are mor fast riders and bikes in the mx2-class in the nationals compared to the gp's. The stupid 23yo rule has on the other hand made MX1 in the gp's very strong.

The tracks so far are very far from what Ken raced in the gp's. Also there is clearly more of a sprint mentality in the nationals.
I think the racing is excellent. Something they do is almost unreal, like Bagget jump and the speed and competitive spirit.
Easy tracks makes everyone look faster, and it looks more like a videogame where trhe gp's sometimes look more "enduro"

I thnik the title will come down to Tomac and Roczen. Bagget is obviously in there as well if he can stay consistent.

This is a typical example of how warped people perceptions can be of us Euro's as a whole. Sure the odd idiot can post something ridiculous which does probably linger in the mind but the reality is quite different.

Here is a thread posted before the season started, its 5 pages long...

250 Outdoor predictions

I just did a quick count and of all fourteen replies from non Americans just THREE have Roczen pencilled in for the title, while NINE Americans have picked him!

Four non Americans - including the one Euro all you Americans love to hate 'Mccread' - have chosen other riders to win the Championship.

While another seven, shrewd Euro's suggest that it will be a very close battle between four or five different riders. Which is surely the most accurate prediction.

So, is it really the Euro's who have the high expectation of KR? Or is it as suspected by many of us, in fact American fans who have these expectations/fear of him and then jump around taking great pleasure when he falls everso slightly short?

Good post.

All I know is, Roczen will always be up there. He got top 3 in every moto but 2 last year (not counting the last round on the 125). There were times last year when Tomac, Baggett and Barcia had absolute shocker days and failed to make the top five in either moto of the day. Of course, all three seem to have upped their consistency thus far.

I apologise, I didn't realise you where at Italy in 09 when Paulin won the 2nd moto on his debut 450 ride. The same moto where Tedesco on full factory equipment came 3rd and Metcalfe 9th. That was after Metcalfe carded a 17th in moto 1. Metcalfe wouldn't score that badly in a national withtwo 1st corner falls. 9-17!

Moto 3? same day...

Moto 3 Results:
1. Ryan Dungey (USA)
2. Steve Ramon (BEL)
3. David Philippaerts (ITA)
4. Jonathan Barragan (ESP)
5. Steven Frossard (FRA)
6. Josh Coppins (NZL)
***7. Ivan Tedesco (USA) ***
8. Max Nagl (GER)
9. Chad Reed (AUS)
10. Shaun Simpson (GBR)

Thats one MXdN, I've attended most in europe in the last 10years plus the 2007 Budds Creek. If you want me to reminise on anymore to backup "the most bullshit statement, with the possible exception of an occasional McCreadism, that I have ever heard."

And this is at the MXdN, where the strong GP countries like France and Belguim often have to leave top5 GP men at home.

Noone this side of the pond will ever question the speed of your top 3/4 guys in each class, even when one is a total asshat like Baggett. Just don't go giving it the old Ivan would win an MX1 title bullshit. He wouldn't. JS7 MIGHT, Dungey MIGHT, Millsaps, Short, Tedesco, none of these guys could finish a GP season in the top5. To say otherwise is to speak out of your ass.

...and cmess77 - We all love K-Dub! He's the man and we were deprived of seeing him at the MXdN so many times because of the commercial flying phobia he has...but he wouldn't top5 in a National or a GP season anymore my friend.

Sorry Jamma , you and your Euro friends have been non stop about Mxon and Roczen for three years. Ever since Roczen raced mxon in Colorado we have heard how Ken Was faster than our riders.

Now all I hear is a big back pedal by you guys. Ken did not live up to the hype and expectations of you euros telling us how he would dominate. It was not the one off Euro, but you guys. I admit you personally don't do that as much anymre and have done a big back pedal. But you use to. People who have been around remember. I sometimes think some of you sign up with a different name and stir the pot, but I have no proof

I don't do it that much anymore because I never did it from the start. You were just too short sighted to notice, that was all.

You read one stupid comment and assume that person speaks for the rest of us. That is and always has been the problem with internet forums.

Wow...

Now we're throwing the "Euro-Hater" name around?

Really?

I'm not having it.

I'll be the 1st to recall KR -Crushing It- at the MXoN on his Suzuki...

Yet, now we're talkin about him having to settle in and Race HERE Full-Time & the Ubber-Euro-Fanboys are having to See Just How Fast it is Over-Here.

That's the ONLY point I was making.

Next, we can start screwing w/ the Orange Lovers that were claiming that KTM was going to Crrrrrrush EVERYONE...

I think a lot of people expected for him to destroy his competition here in the States. I honestly expected more from here. Yes the season is starting but he has his hands full with more than a rider. This is not intended to bash on the kid as we all know how talented he is. I have read about the change in diet, not being used to the heat, etc, etc. I think the fact that the competition is tougher than he expected might be starting to weight in his mind. He might be doing great but he was expected to win.

Intelligent analysis, thoughts, smart ass comments or excuses welcome!
Watch out I mentioned that he hasn't delivered and was stoned for it.

He's 18. That's not a kid in motocross and hasn't been for a long time.

And you can always be counted on to haul out your "The U.S. and its fans are ignorant patriot haters" card.

What pisses me off watching the AMA Nationals is the announcers constantly saying "Your watching the fastest riders in the world here today!"
The only riders with a legitimate claim to that tag are guys like Cairoli, Desalle, Pourcel, Herlings, Searle etc who are racing for a true WORLD MX CHAMPIONSHIP!
No doubt Stewart, Dungey, Bagget, Tomac or Barcia have the speed to win a world championship, but backing it up without all the home comforts, fly in--- fly out, a convenience store on every corner mentality of living in the USA is another matter.

Never underestimate all the travel, weather and language barriers the GP guys face on a weekly basis!

Rob is that why Villopoto and Dungey went over to France last September and did what they did on a GP track they had never ridden on? Or does that not count because it wasn't part of the "weekly" deal?

Which of these is an insult. I apologise for the confusion but I wasn't taught US grammer in school.

Baggett is an asshat, they way he reacted to Dean last year was ridiculous and petty.

To say Millsaps, Short or Tedesco would win the MX1 world title would be talking out of your ass, broken down to mean 'talking shit bro' if that helps the translation.

And this...

"Milsaps, Short, Tedesco, none of these guys could finish a GP season in the top 5"

"To say otherwise is to speak out of your ass."

Was actually this...

"Millsaps, Short, Tedesco, none of these guys could finish a GP season in the top5. To say otherwise is to speak out of your ass."

Don't try and chop my words to make me appear like an idiot you fool
