Just got back from Freestone. First of all bad ass race! Last time I went was 2010 and I had a blast today, tried to soak in how these beast ride if ya know what i mean
There was a group of people that were yelling shit at Dungey during his podium speech after moto 1.
"Why didn't you pass Stewart Dungey??" "Pussy" "Oh it's cause you can't" and ended the shouting with "James is gonna 24-0 you!"
This shit annoyed me cause I saw Stewart look over at the people after one shout and his facial expression changed like "fuck you" and it was relatively quiet during Ryan's first moto podium speech too so they both heard all this for sure. And Stewart said in his second moto podium speech that "it's disrespectful to these guys "aka Dungey" to say any 24-0 crap."
What the fuck is this kind of shit common now or what? Maybe I overreacted cause I was drunk, but I almost started blind siding douchebags. Or maybe I have too much respect for pro's. But shit for good reasons, especially someone like Dungey.

In team sports I'm the same way but it's harder. Most people are team based but even if the Patriots aren't necessarily my fav team, I love players. I can root for Wes Welker. When it comes to team sports I'm definitely a player fan but I do have my fav two teams. Anyhow.
I digress.
Kinda like the JS vs CR rivalry. I'm a Reed fan but with Reed out I'm actually rooting for JS7 this outdoor season because I used to hate JS7 but after watching an interview with RJ and Bailey. I learned that these rivalries are important and actually in a way help your favorite rider be great. I think someday that we'll see JS and CR tearing up in some legends of motocross documentary heh.
The drama in MX (JS7 vs CR22) is what keeps us coming back. Find it absolutely amazing that people claim to hate a rider because he loses or wins against their favorite rider. If you are truly a fan of the sport, you embrace races like today.

I'm not a Stewart fan but he earned my respect with the ride yesterday and his level of fitness - holy crap that was an awesome race.
