For photographers the good news is, you have a lot more access at the Nationals than you do for Supercross.

The bad news is, some don't know the boundaries.

It looks like that #7 guy is on his arches and no finger on the clutch. The #5 guy is on balls of feet and has a finger on the clutch............ Sorry I couldn't resist.

Seriously though, that photographer is awfully close to the action.

Crop it down to JS and RD and that would make an excellent RX cover. Looks like you got the money shot and didn't have to risk life and limb and public humiliation like that dude.

Sipes is doing the same, and I hear he's catching a bunch of grief from sponsors who are complaining that he's running it on the outside of his jersey, rather than underneath.

I don't know about looking through the view finder with 40 bikes barreling down on me. One out of control dood and a strategically placed rock to trip on and your day is done. Pfft I'd rather be the rider atleast then I got some protective gear on.

I was standing on the side of a jump during practice and caught a rock with my non-shooting eye...and that's not the first time.

Pathetic.

"Don't protect your body because we want people to see out iron on stickers."

Logo stickers would be pretty visible on the white protector like Collier has.

I haven't seen any pics of Sipes from yesterday....is it Ryan or Justin?

Obviously you need a goggle sponsor!

Get with Mathes he should be able to hook you up.

Is that cox running like a frightened 30 sec girl?

Check out this one from a Kawasaki shoot I did with Jeff Emig a while back. The rock was decent sized, and caught me on the edge of my left eye socket. Fortunately, no permanent damage, though you can see it rocked me. What you don't get is the three or four second delay, and me saying, "Ow." Smile

The big question is, did he get the shot?

You'd think they could just make sticker kits for them like leatt braces, wrist braces, helmets, number plates etc. I guess that's just do hard... Blink

My wife was on the business end of a rock a couple months ago. She was filming my race and was posted up on this left hand sweeper and took one right to the ankle bone. Dropped her like a rag doll. I pulled back into my pit and she said in the most pathetic voice "I got hit with a rock in the ankle" Me, "Well did you get any pics?" her, "no"........ Me, "WTF!! jesus it's just a rock, stand on one leg if you have to, damn woman get it together". lol.......

Saw a nice ole rock fly yesterday. I was at the top of the step up jump at the race. Didn't catch who, but someone threw a rock forward with the rear wheel when they were jumping up on to the step up. It must have been a 2 inch rock. The thing flew up the hill and into the crow. It must have flow a good 80-100 feet easy. Not sure if it hit someone, but the thing was flying.

Back in the early nineties I used to go to Hangtown every year with a group of about 6 friends. We were always by the fence with a cooler of beer, someone started the tradition of tossing rocks at one of my friends every time the leaders went by. He didn't figure it out for 3 years, he was always saying, "why the hell do I get roosted every lap?" It was some funny shit.
