Went to James' fan dinner at Pizza Rock in downtown Sacrament tonight. Legit.
Spoke to him for a couple of minutes and with Mookie. Both are really nice and signed autographs and took a bunch of pictures with everyone. Pretty cool to see what he and Red Bull do for his fans, free Red Bull, free JS7 hats for the kids plus the free food for everyone.
While we were there we got to meet and talk to Daron Rahlves. Super cool dude, rode amateur day today and will be riding the cross over event. He said the track is gnarly but really good. So the racing should be good come Saturday.
Overall it was a cool thing to go to, got to meet him and his brother and Roger and a couple guys from Vurb. Definitively would go again if I had the chance.

All joking aside, from his ride days to these dinners, James is a good dude, just doesn't always make the right decision.
Hoping he kills it tomorrow.
I hope he does one of these for Red Bud.
Pfft... Don't quit your day job Bubba
The venue was really cool, tv's all around showing all his latest Suzuki videos and playing some music. Really laid back spot.
I really enjoyed it, and hopefully next year he does another one in Sacramento.
Maybe I should start watching him on that twiddle-thingie...
Did he do this on his own dime or were his sponsors behind this? Doesn't matter. Just curious. I still say James is good guy who gets a bad rap for trying to branch out and be a bit different. He's also kind of a ham when it comes to attention. But who here could honestly say that if they were in his shoes... They wouldn't try to live it up as well. WTG James.... Good luck at Hangtown!
If he's doing this because he wants the publicity, Boo.
If he's doing it because he's grown up, that's awesome.
I haven't seen the mature JS in person, only the jack ass version.
PS. Your avatar has extra wheels, WTF?

"Can't be off if it's based from my experience can it? Different experiences, different opinions. And to his credit, probably at a different time in his life. I'm just saying... keep your eyes open. He wasn't always a saint so IMO, I'm not clear of his motives."
Who gives a fuck what you are clear or not clear of? What does he have to gain from inviting people to hang out, meet him and others from the sport, feed them for free and sign a bunch of autographs? You're an absolute fucking moron.
Very professional slip, making Ridgeway look bad on a daily basis I see.
Plus, you know that was funny!
That being said, if I were a pro rider I probably wouldn't want to be bothered with fans until after the main is over, or during the scheduled autograph sessions. Fans can't just randomly roam the locker room during halftime of the superbowl, I think we as fans are spoiled with the access we have to the riders.

But who is a saint all the time? It's easy for us to judge him from the outside looking in. I know it bothered me that he didn't show up to the last couple SX races or the awards banquet. Pretty shitty in my opinion. But at the same time....He may have been going through some personal stuff. I know I suffer from depression and there are times where the last thing I want to do is be around anybody. Period. Fans that love me or not. I still would have shown up though. So no excuses for him there.
But it seems to me that the guy genuinely cares for his friends, his family, and his fans. Stuff like this really shows. I'd like to think James would have done the same thing regardless if the media had known or not.
By the way...No my avatar doesn't have "extra" wheels. I'm not gonna be trolled into starting a flame/hate war or a pissing contest. I ride what I ride. I love both sports. Get over it. Tired of you childish cocksuckers who completely ignore an intelligently written post just to attack someones love for another side of the sport. Grow up.
