Wow!! How about Mike Alessi, 6th overall. Great job for being a privateer!! I know a lot of guys are hurt but man, still a good sx season.

I would give him a C+, B- at best. He has been doing nothing but fading. Since Tony has recently said that the bike is great, I just don't see how going from 1st to 7th is reason to chear.

For a guy that's got a couple of 4th's as of late, all I'm saying is not bad. He's been fading but probably has outdoors on his mind. I predict podiums every week! if he stays healthy.

Saw that! Alessi wants to win a little to much! If these tracks didn't have whoops, he'd probably have been on the box a few times this year. If he wouldn't do all this crazy stuff, who would?

I think Alessi did great this year considering he is not a good SX rider. If he did this good in SX, I have to think he will be running in the front outdoors. He seems to be happy with the bike and that can only translate to good results outdoors where he is good at. I think he will be in the podium consistenly this year.

He goes backwards at every sx because he doesnt have the speed yet. Outdoors, could be a different story this year.

It's the whoops mainly coupled by random mistakes in rhythm sections. He also has a tendency to leave the door open on 180 degree turns. I don't know how he can be so excellent at one aspect of the sport (starts) and so utterly bad at another (whoops). It takes commitment to be good at starts. It takes commitment to be good at whoops. I think he is going to have a solid outdoor series. I think him finishing 6th overall was a very sound performance, and I don't care about all the injuries. Everybody lined up at the beginning of the year. Some guys rode, some got hurt, some came back, others rode hurt all season, others didn't (or couldn't) come back. It is what it is.

gotta agree DV, don't know what races these guys are watching but he's definitely not in shape. Doing better outdoors where the motos are longer, frikkin hotter in the summer, WTFFFF!!!

Back in 2009, Mike would get third behind Stewart and Reed at some rounds, and considering those two were out, and the only rider out there in Vegas who was there speed was Dungey, dropping that far back after a holeshot isn't exactly great...

I think he's done good this year. Yes, there's been a bit of a hole created with rider injuries but you still have to step up and fill those spots, just as every other previously top 10 rider attempts the same. I think we'd all agree he's traditionally a much stronger MX rider than SX, and considering how last year went... he's light years improved this year and will leave the series healthy.

I hated that leg business though. I don't really think it was about balance but more about slowing the progress of Dungey.
Not good, I don't agree with it.

I was afraid he was going to cause another canard morais type of injury. He seems like he has a hard time holding his line and doesn't hit the rhythm sections predictably. And he got passed at least twice in the same corner. I hope he does well outdoors. It'll be nice to have some competition up front.

He had two 4ths, and all other finishes were 6th or worse.

yep, exactly...

If he could step it up to be the best of the rest in '09 (even if it was one occasion), which would be ahead of riders like Millsaps, then how come he couldn't do it this year, at least once? He had a perfect opportunity in Vegas with grabbing the holeshot etc.

Sure. That's why you post something negative in every thread about Alessi. You have issues frenchy, get over it. And how about a fact that 800 is one of a very small number of riders, 2 I think, to finish EVERY Main this year? How about the fact that this is as good as he has ever done in SX?

We all get it, you really don't like Alessi, especially Tony. But to basically stalk threads about Alessi in order to take pot shots, well, you come off looking like a bitter little french bitch.

Best of the rest also was ahead of RV that one time in 2009. Time doesn't stand still for anyone. Same question could be asked why he didn't just step up and beat RV for the title this year. It isn't that easy.
