...between these two...
I've mentioned in another thread about how I traded two blown-up 2007 KTM 450 SX-f's for my friend's 2003 CR250.
The plan is to keep one & sell the other.
Bike #1
I bought this one new when I was working at the local Honda dealer. Sold it to a friend, who sold it to another buddy, who then sold it back to me. Rebuilt the motor this past winter, new cylinder, top-end, crank, clutch basket, hub & pressure plate. Oh, & I bolted on an FMF sst after this pic was taken. The wheels are Haan, ironman sprockets, & as you can see, I updated the front plastic. Bike runs strong, has a nice "hit" with the sst on it.
Bike #2
This one I traded the two ka-booms for. My buddy is the tech at the Honda dealer I once worked for.
He rebuilt it over the winter, new jug, top-end, crank. it's pretty nice. Wheels are smoothed factory hubs with powder coated rims. Lots of Zeta billet stuff, updated hardware (1-piece seat-bolts, etc.). Bike is tight.
Care to share some thoughts, gentlemen?

Nice bikes.
this should have been obvious to the OP or maybe he just wanted to show off the bikes.

How did you manage to blow up 2 KTM's?
Turns out, the cam-chain tensioner is junk on those things (#1) . As for the rod in #2...? That's what I get for buying a used 4-stroke!
Yota has the plan...keep all the best stuff on one & sell the other.
Here's the thing, the red bike has a rangy powerband & soft suspension. The black bike has a mellow motor with stiff suspension. I like them both, but....just can't decide.
Since I made a fool of myself in the New Feature thread. That bike DID look like an AF, but second looks its obviously not. Pipe threw me off, cylinder gives it away.
Post a reply to: Have to decide...
