These are James AMA Motocross STATS / FACT's:

2005 = Crashed Out, 12'th in the series w/138 points

2006 = Crashed Out, 4'th in the series w/381 points

2007 = Crashed Out, 7'th in the series w/290 points

2008 = Perfect season, Champion (600 POINTS) | Impressive by any standards

2009 = Sat out

2010 = Sat out, except 1 race | First moto: finished third behind... Dungey! Second moto, pulled off.

2011 = Sat out

2012 = ??? Unknown

Now, any rational fan would see... saying that "their" rider, with these stats, is going to
undeniably win the title this year is a bit... CRAZY sounding!

Even if he was MY favorite rider, I would still question his ability to dominate and WIN.

We'll see though... that's why they RACE!

Big Ken is on last years 450 factory bike. Which in my opinon make his results even more impressive. The only 2012 "Factory Edition" is Max Nagl's, and that has yet to be raced in europe.

In fairness, 05 was the ridiculous notion of running that KX250 against 450's, in 06 he gave Carmichael the only run ever made at him, and some of the crashes (Southwick) were not on him, and in 07 he was walking away with it until he blew his knee out in an even more flukey accident than just put RV out. He actually didn't even fall.

Missing races like this isn't that uncommon for guys that fast with the exception of RC. Canard, Lusk, Hepler, etc. Dungey has been a pretty smart cat in this regard.

FIM and AMA have different regulations on bikes. The 2012 Nationals are Stewart's chance for redemption. Let's hope he's serious so to add to the competition in a field decimated by SX injuries.

FTE, I'm not trying to be unfair or bias, I'm just stating the results for the past seven years.

Also, a 250 had been run against 450's before! And in '07, you'll remember that's the year James started skipping Saturday practices, correlation??? I thought so at the time.

I don't want to turn this into something it's not. I just thought that the fans saying he's going to WIN when there is soo much
going on in his program right now that it was a bit premature! Especially given his past attempts.

Sometimes I post harshly in reflection of a thread, but if he puts forth a championship effort, and wins the title, so be it. He deserves it, same as anyone else.

Here's to great racing with him in it all summer long! MY God, we NEED that after how Supercross has gone.

You guys kill me. Bubba doesn't race MX for three years. Last time at Unadilla Dungey had him covered. Yet you guys still think Bubba has some kind of magic elixir he is gonna pull out. We will see.

Where's Bubba's raw speed been in the SX season? Was he saving it for outdoors?

Didn't RC beat a few 450s on his 2 Stroke 250?

Bubba's been training for 15min sprint races for the past what 3-4 yrs? All the sudden he's gonna be ready for TWO 35 minute motos from hell in blistering heat on a track that's beat to shit? Oh yeah he's going up against the most conditioned guy on the track who's lap times are the same for lap 1 to lap 15. Don't worry though Bubba nuthuggers, he will most likely still beat his competition from 2008. Shorty, Alessi, Ferry. Wait he's retired. RD's gonna have a lonely summer out front

I understand. I don't think Stewart has proven he's the old Stewart, and we don't know his program, so I'm not saying he's going to wax the field week in and week out. I have no idea how it's going to turn out. That said, stats can go only so far, and everyone ought to be held to the same standard. RV's record in the big bike class is almost as mixed, and Canard seems to be this generation's Ezra. But those guys get the love.

Comparing RC on a 250 against most others on a 450 in 03 is a bit different from comparing Stewart on a 250 against RC on a 450 in 05. With all due respect to the rest of the field in 03. Kawi dropped the ball big time on 450 development.

Right on, as well as Stewarts apparent inability to find a set-up for SX, he's going to find one on a track with 5 times as many features and changing conditions? Dungey all the way with a real racers mentality along with an excellent relationship with his team.

So far...at this point in time...up til now...if recent results are any indication,Smile i'd say Dungey is a proven winner and a threat anytime anywhere. James needs to get back to that level before i would pick him to beat Ryan

X2 james hasnt shown much last few years and that win or crash mentality isnt working for him anymore. Dungey should have the upper hand.

Not picking on anyone in particular, Just amazes me how many experts are mixed in on here. I am far from being an expert. Sure I will indulge my opinions on occasion. But some of the stuff is amazing. Speculation and FACTS. Training regiments. Requirements. I would go on, but I have to ICE my racer controller thumb so I can get out to the garage later and replace my POWER BANDS in my KxYZF two stroke. (see how stupid that sounds) Its OK to have opinions, or speculate a little even be mistaken but don't wing it. Its obvious to others.

If it don't apply...
I lurk more than anything, some times I participate but try to refrain, due to a lack of knowledge or interest on the subject. Most post seem justified. Weather people agree or not is obvious. That doesn't mean you have to chime in on everything and preach the gospel on the subject especially if you are not informed or qualified. This is my opinion and you do not have to like it.

Why are there still people that believe this? James has been beaten!!!! straight up! haha by Dungey, Reed, and RV, soooo I think it's going to take a lot more then James' black magic to win the races he needs to be prepared for some serious competition those young guys are hungry!

I think Ryan Dungey through sheer fitness and consistency.

But either way I'm overjoyed to hear that James is going to be out there making the series more interesting.
